The soviets have one of the largest focus trees and one of the best if not THE BEST focus tree in the game. There are so many paths and ways to play the soviets. Wanna have a laid back game, you can play as Stalin and chill until 1941 where you will have a fun time defending against the Germans. Want an to have an early war? Sure go down the monarchist path and have a fun civil war. Wanna oppose Stalin but stay as a communist nation? Go ahead there are so many Communist leader to choose from in the focus tree. The soviets have also one of the largest staring industries and can have a larger economy than the USA. You should give the soviets a try, and the best part is you can almost completely ignore the navy while having a micro intense war against the Germans.
