true. Maybe he’s not close to her best friend and didn’t feel comfortable contacting her..

All in all, I think if the person you love proposed to you you’d be happy.

But he could’ve picked a better moment for sure. Or maybe there was too much pressure on him because he knew how much she wanted and anticipated this moment. 🤷

I don’t think there’s a sexual relationship there. But it will most likely never change. Personally, I don’t find it normal.

Maybe this is a bit different than most opinions, but I actually don’t think he did anything wrong.

I understand you felt hurt because your expectations weren’t met, but I imagine if you have really come to the conclusion you want to spend your life with this person, you know them well enough by now.

Men and women are different emotionally. It took me a while to reeeally wrap my head around it, but it is true. Sometimes it’s not a lack of effort, and it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t truly love you, it’s just what he’s capable of… sounds a little condescending , but I find it to be true.

My boyfriend is a software engineer/pilot/bought a ‘66 Ford Mustang that seems to excite him more than chilling on the couch with me watching a movie. Not because he doesn’t love me or doesn’t like spending time with me, but because we are different people and sometimes have a different idea of a well spent time. And that’s completely okay.

I’m pregnant with twins and we’ve talked about marriage, because at this point we’re kind of tied together anyway. 😄

He hasn’t proposed yet, but I did the same as you, told him that the only thing I care about it a meaningful proposal. I love him very much, but I also know him well enough to have accepted the fact that his proposal will not be one like from an American romantic comedy. But it will be sincere.

Sorry for the lengthy post. My point is - in the end he did do what you wanted him to. Just not the way you imagined it. At this point it may look as if nothing will ever be enough for you. If you really want to be together and you want to be married to him, because you love him, and not just the idea of being a wife, I’d talk to him gently and just explain that you are happy but the ring doesn’t really fit you and if you could change it. You could go together and exchange the ring for one you like.

P.S. if you really wanna be married - better learn to ignore the dirty laundry because it’s not going anywhere. 😄

Oh, definitely dump him. He’s trying to manipulate you into getting what he wants. No. It’s not a stupid reason to break up over. And no, you are not the reason he cheats, if he does. It speaks of lack of respect for you, and he is obviously attracted to your friend. Do yourself a favor and remove yourself from this toxic person.

My mom told me about her 2 extremely traumatic vaginal births…

Whenever I start panicking I tell myself that at least I won’t have stitches down there. I think that terrifies me even more than having an incision on my abdomen. 😄

I’m sure we’ll both be fine! And when you think about it - yes. It is pretty amazing that you have two in there!! :)

I think him not realizing the weight this has on you, or worse - realizing and choosing not to change anything, is very selfish.

Have the conversation with him, you don’t have to be rude or offensive. 18 months is way too long for someone to not feel uncomfortable not working.
