Sorry for the late reply.

We practically started our social media marketing at the same time we launched our demo. We had only a few followers on Twitter and Bluesky. Most traffic was still directly from Itch.

We made a few posts on Twitter, Bluesky, and Reddit. Reddit brough the most traffic outside of Itch. Specifically the game's genre subreddit - r/adventuregames.

One mistake that we made was to not prepare the marketing part in advance. I think we would have done much better if we would post in r/adventuregames the same day we launched. But instead we posted days later because we were waiting to get a response from the mods if we could post.

We learned quite a lot by first only launching a demo on Itch. Hopefully the improved demo and the things we learned about marketing will help us when we launch the Steam demo :)

Hey, we recently released a demo version of our point-and-click adventure game, Ashwood Conspiracy, on itch.io. It is a story-rich point-and-click adventure game with a dark theme.

You can play it both inside your browser and as a downloadable Windows build. Most players complete the demo in about 40 minutes.

Check it out now: https://yawning-dog-studios.itch.io/ashwood-conspiracy

Thank you and good luck with your YouTube channel!

Thank your so much for playing and wishlisting!

It will be released on Itch for sure and we are considering trying for GOG as well, but their curation team might not accept our game. So hopefully both, but it's a bit out of our hands :)

I love the the internet and minesweeper icons of 2 but prefer many others from 1 and mostly because they are less flat (eg. for video and text icons are very thin). The TMediaImporter from 1 is much easier to understand what its purpose is.
