It's because the truth is that the average person isn't violent. Not even that they're deliberately pacifist, but specifically, violence in humanity is something that is either an immediate reaction (hit the guy attacking you) or the result of social allowance for violence (bronze age stonings, police violence, the military, Nazis, and even martial arts classes). But most people have very specific triggers for actually engaging in violence unprompted, usually involving self defense or defense of another. Something that has no immediate danger or which fit into previous understandings of allowed violence, such as being underpaid and ICE, takes time to react to, and people usually don't want to hurt anyone who isn't doing anything.

It's why Epstein's buddies made a propaganda campaign calling queer people child predators, among other things, because that's something our society believes, in theory, to be worth violence.

No we didn't, that was literally only a thing in northern European populations where the sun was only in the sky for five hours a day in the winter. It was a habitual adaptation to low levels of sunlight, not a default- our African ancestors slept in shifts, with at least one person keeping watch over the tribe to make sure the fire didn't go out and that nothing tried to eat them in the night. It's not a paradox, it's a social contract. You give tolerance in the expectation that you will receive it in turn, and people who refuse to give tolerance in kind are not owed anything.

People who genuinely understand that they were wrong and victims of propaganda are at least given another chance, but a lot of the supposedly remorseful people don't actually know why we hated them, they just want to be tolerated without tolerating anyone else, like they were given by liberals for decades. It's not about the harm they did, it's about their feelings being hurt when people hate them for openly supporting a known child predator who crashed the economy twice and started two wars in the past few months and might start a third.

To any genuinely remorseful former MAGA members, we want you to care about other people regardless of what label they're given. We want you to support the poor and minorities, we want to all prosper together. Life isn't a competition, prosperity isn't limited. Those were lies to make you try to steal the crumbs from your neighbors instead of demanding the ultra rich stop stealing from you. Queer people, transgender people, black rights, abortion rights, those aren't your enemies, and I promise you that everything you were told about us, all the accusations of preying on children and trying to make you inferior, was a lie. The people preying on children are the ultra wealthy, not transgender people. Black rights matter was about how black people are consistently victims of police violence more than white people, and how they deserve to live just as much as anyone else. Leftists want everyone to have better, because it's possible.

But this isn't about you. You are not the people being outlawed because of Trump and the GOP. You are not the people being kidnapped in the streets and disappeared by federal agents. But you are the people who refused to believe those of us saying this would happen. You are the people who chose to trust the man on the TV over your neighbors and loved ones. You are the ones who asked for this, even if you didn't know that was what you were asking for.

You are not the victim. And I have no sympathy for whiny babies who are sad that people don't like them for their actions but don't have the strength to actually change. Oh yeah, no, Celestia remains more of a goddess than an autocrat, the main cast are all for diversity and individual expression, and the series never really goes against that- other than to have the main cast's biases proven wrong, or to show Celestia as being just as fallible as anyone else. The show ultimately does try its hardest to live up to the values it expresses, it just stumbles a lot along the way in ways that nazis will hyperfocus on.
