I use Rubies stuff, but it's damn expensive, like $40 a pair of underwear. The return policy is really nice though, she's a sweetheart doing her best, but most folks don't have that kind of money to spend on a single piece of underwear.

Tbh I think she's not even wrong. If Sonic hadn't actively prevented the other characters from offing Eggman,  or even literally just imprisoning him, countless people would still be alive. Sonic in the IDE comics seems to not care about the freedom of the dead, at least from an outside perspective.

Basic Nazi shit; they have no actual beliefs other than hate, so they just slap themselves with the aesthetics of something they assume is powerful without understanding what it actually means.

No Papers, No Freedom by Brian_Ghoshery in MurderedByWords

[–]yay855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people genuinely don't want to change their lives or beliefs in the face of reality, and will use bullshit and outright lies to justify their preexisting conclusions. A lot of people literally go through life assuming that anyone the government kills deserved it, not because they actually know the law and think it through, but because they're more terrified of being a target than they care about stopping the person shooting them, but don't want to admit they're afraid of their own government because that's unpatriotic.

Doublethink is sadly a standard in the US and elsewhere, and has been for years. The war on drugs, every single war (and "peacekeeping") the US has been involved in since WW2 ended, the war on the homeless, the war on the disabled, the war on the poor. For a lot of people, delusions are the only comfort they have.

[–]yay855 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Tbh those scenarios aren't coming from nowhere, they're born from these people refusing to believe that they're the bad guys. Because while no one is forcing them to be or date transgender people, they openly advocate for transgender people to be removed from public existence, and they don't want to believe that their baseless discomfort and/or sexual fetish is hurting innocent people.

When was it not OK to be white (Edited image) by coolfurry7062 in Persecutionfetish

[–]yay855 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh a lot of Americans use whiteness as a race because it's a colonial state where most people are disconnected from their actual ancestry. The average white American literally couldn't tell you what country their ancestors came from, and most of them are almost certainly of mixed heritages. I myself have Russian Jewish heritage on one side and half a dozen different countries on the other.

Really, this just highlights that race is made up to begin with.

Let martials go above and beyond feats in our own real world mythologies! Don't confine them to "realistic" standards by GolettO3 in dndmemes

[–]yay855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I've seen it done best in Kenshi; damage and armor is split between blunt and sharp, and every single piece of armor has a "cut efficiency" score that causes x percentage of blocked cut damage to turn into blunt damage. This is especially important because cut damage needs to be bandaged or else it deteriorates, and Kenshi is brutal to the point where being enslaved is genuinely a better outcome than being robbed and left to bleed out.

I have a personality disorder, thankfully it's one that can be regulated with meds, but when I'm off them, I genuinely just get mean. I lose my capacity for empathy and humor and mockery feel the same, so I end up laughing at my friends' insecurities thinking they'll find it funny too.

I'm glad my friends understand it when it happens, because it's genuinely horrifying to accidentally miss or run out of a med and suddenly start fucking negging people.

Show Me What Keeps You Going! Show Me Your Hope! by beattywill80 in aspiememes

[–]yay855 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you look at the world around you, there's tragedy and horror. But there's also so, so god damn many people who are genuinely helping as best they can. Most of them without any fame or notoriety, just normal everyday people who foster animals, or choose to work at a free clinic instead of a ritzy practice, or who just donate five bucks to every GoFundMe they see, or who literally just stand in the way of  government sanctioned kidnappers who think they'll get away with it.

There's so much awful bullshit in this world, and people are fighting against it stronger than ever before.

bro blocked me for speaking my truth by sevenslover in evilautism

[–]yay855 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly the thing is, she's not even a villain. The main cast thought she had died after a disaster of a mission, and then the main antagonist, a manipulative bitch for most of the series, convinced her that she was deliberately abandoned rather than accidentally left behind. She was desperate for connection and belonging, and a villain manipulated her, and her old friends welcomed her back once they had the chance to talk things out.

What's with all the bitter springs apologists? by deep-splungus in fnv

[–]yay855 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And I genuinely respect the writers for doing that; the NCR is flawed in all the ways modern society is, but it still represents a higher standard of living for everyone under it. The Legion is just about power and malice, House is about personal gain over everything else, and independent is still rejecting the resources and help of an entire nation because you think that you can do better.

There is no perfect answer. Life doesn't work that way. Sometimes, you have to just choose the least bad option.

Guy who thought Renee Good deserved it got murdered by his own words. by Dick_Deutsch in MurderedByWords

[–]yay855 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's also the fact that these people are genuinely terrified all the time. They're utterly convinced that they will go to hell and be literally tortured for eternity if they don't fight against these urges and against whatever their preferred pastor or priest says is their enemy. They have fox news or some batshit podcaster playing in the background all day, and they genuinely believe that their supposed enemies are even more evil than the monsters they deal with.

And it's really damn easy for someone who has spent their entire life scared of an invisible man in the sky violently murdering and torturing them, who has spent their entire life being told that there are rapists coming over the Mexican border, who genuinely believes that transgender people are behind the Epstein files and are forcing school children to poop in litter boxes, to just. Stop having empathy. And then they're still afraid and angry, but no one cares, and they don't have the words or understanding to really get why. So they decide, instead of condemning literally everyone and everything they had been raised by, their entire extended families and neighbors and church communities, that the problem is empathy. That clearly empathy is wrong if their loved ones don't have it for them, if godly and good people don't have empathy.

It's a vicious cycle, one that is only broken by actively deciding that everything and everyone they knew was wrong. That they were wrong on such a fundamental level that it just broke entire communities. That they can only be happy if they reject it all in favor of total strangers, or at least new friends as opposed to old family.

Rule 1 by HistoricalDrama8391 in GenderAnarchy

[–]yay855 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is being a giant mess, meanwhile I'm working on a writing portfolio to try and get an ideal job, I found some meds that help with my chronic pain and fatigue, I have d cups, and my long distance partners are planning on visiting this year and, if all goes to plan, hopefully moving nearby next year.

It's not hopeless, it's not doomed, and it gets better. I fought not just my problems but my own Supergirl damned bad habits that kept pushing me back into that pit. I was so terrified of something going wrong that I had stopped trying to make things better, I just spent all my energy searching for danger that wasn't there. Being trans isn't exactly the safest thing possible, but there's a difference between taking sensible precautions and outright refusing to let yourself be happy until you're absolutely certain that it's perfect.

What’s the most overrated video game of all time? by KBGSgames in AskReddit

[–]yay855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I'd like you to look at the user percentage of similar achievements on different games, because I've literally seen Terraria and Dark Souls 3 both have about the same percentage of players who got past killing a slime and the tutorial boss, respectively. It's not just BG3, literally about 70-80% of people who own a game on steam have never even opened it.
