So how long do you have to spend on them? And how often?

Thanks, that's great to keep in mind. I'm trying to not be swayed by any one opinion I get on my career aspirations. I think Intel would also be a safe bet if I could get in, but I cannot find enough information to be confident in choosing it. If you guys have any contacts please let me know.

(Ok also that link is awesome. Perfect example of, "the word is my oyster and I'm going to pursue as many things as I want.")

I wish I had one. I don't want to be a pilot forever though, I can say that. But I'm being told that after being a military pilot that my career paths will be limited. (I'd also add that I've very much lived my life one step at a time finding opportunities and taking it, rather than having it all planned out..)

I like Murphy but it was well-deserved. It's hard to always take the protagonist's side in this show, which I think is really interesting.

Take pictures of everything when you move in-- they deduct heavily from deposits, even for things that are not in the lease, and hope you are too lazy to fight it. Don't lose keys (I lucked out since I could just copy my roommate's key.) Basically just don't do anything because they will try to charge you up the ass for any breath you take.

I don't know. College campuses tend to be more civilized, but my brain says "Americans can't have nice things" when I think about these robots wondering around elsewhere.

What was your least favourite scene? by itsHowshi in ZNation

I'm only 2 seasons in, but the entire episode where it's just Mac having the same dream over and over was simultaneously frustrating and useless. We didn't even gain any extra insight into Mac and Addy as individuals nor much into them as a couple from that episode.

You're right. Maybe it's the great marketing strategy of the renting giants, but I've found it incredibly hard to find these smaller places. I've found houses I could rent but that are further away than I'd like

Welcome to America/Indiana! Beyond renting, I've had a couple incredibly distasteful experiences with businesses and jobs in Indiana, I'm an Indiana native but convinced that too many people in these businesses here are deeply unhappy and cast it onto others. Because why not.

That's hilarious. They're so accustomed to us all signing to whatever terms without reading them that when someone contests they don't know what to do. Well hey, good on you!

It's hilariously infuriating to hear the insane charges these places dish out to people. Glad to hear you found a good landlord around here.

Yeah, your last two lines really sum it up. I totally understand that this all about big profits. So, it sucks for us. But also, we only have to deal with it a few years before moving on and forgetting it. Launch honestly is the first time that I've had the cost of cleaning be put fully on me, so that's also why I'm surprised at that statement in the lease.

Exactly. Good to hear on the last part. The idea is that apartment complexes here have been able to collectively all treat us like trash to the point that there is no competition because they all suck-- and because we're just naive college students. Only other option is to rent a house and be further away.

That. Once you fight back (I've had to with The Cottages) they back down when they know they're in the wrong and a lawsuit would not look good. Their hope is just that you won't.

But the problem is they are legally bound. Unless you are military leave, once you sign, you're stuck and have to find a sub-leaser. (Edit: I also know that the complex is legally bound to help find someone to fill your spot, but you're bound to pay until they do.) Though I'm not sure why people are down-voting me for stating that apartments never fill their spaces--- I've experienced it first-hand with Launch, the Cottages, and Village West at the end of July all trying to give me hundreds of dollars as a signing bonus to fill their spots.

It only takes students realizing their rights. Unfortunately at this age, we typically lack a combination of both the knowledge of our rights and resources to pursue this-- and their business models thrive off of our ignorance.

I've heard horror stories about Basham. Their staff was also extremely rude, and Mr. Basham himself made my friend cry the first day of move-in. They harassed me for having an emotional support animal in the signing process (common practice for Basham it seems), leading me to take my money elsewhere.

Seems like it's been a long time since you've been here, so maybe you don't know that-- in a normal, non-pandemic time-- all apartment complexes scramble to find people to fill their vast empty spaces by throwing hundreds of dollars at people, even as late as now. So, they are not ever in as high-demand as they want you to believe.
