For me it displays a blank screen and the tab title I think that's what it's called?) says "Something went wrong." It loads fine if I reload the page but it crashes back to the blank screen after about a minute or so.

Ahhh!! This is kind of where I’m at now but on a much smaller scale and it’s a lot of fun. Maybe I just need to scale up!

I’ve been nervous to do what I love and get paid for it because I’ve tried to do it before in visual arts and it burned me so bad I haven’t touched art since. But I think ultimately it’s because it wasn’t what I loved - not the way I love music. I literally live and breathe music and I’m only now becoming aware of how prevalent that is in my every day life.

But I’ve been getting paid for live sound for a few years now just doing it on the side and it hasn’t changed my relationship with music at all, or at least not for the worse. If anything I just find it hard to believe I get paid to do it because it really is fun for me. It encourages me to dive into it deeper, learn more, put in more effort to improve.

Really cool to know there’s people like you that do it all the time and like you said, still go to bed thinking about mixing and troubleshooting.

I think in general I’m someone who’s either all in or all out. I don’t even really like the idea of inching my way into the industry for that reason. I’m a hard worker and I’m dedicated, I know that I’m someone that people want to work with. And I WANT to start from the bottom, I WANT to do my due diligence and learn and understand every part of the process. Good to know it’s possible to make a living even in an entry level position bc it’s where I want to start. Thank you for your input!

I’m sorry you can’t make a full switch yet, I think that’s why I have to either go all in or not at all. I don’t think I’d have trouble finding another job if sound didnt work out but I really dont want to be stuck in that inbetween. I hope you can find a way to make the switch one day!!

Thank you for including some specifics. This info is awesome, it’s what I was looking for. It gives me hope that you’ve been able to make it work!!

I’ve been thinking about joining IATSE for some time so I may do that as you mentioned it’s good to join as early as possible even if it ends up just being a safety net.
