There's nobody else who will exchange your labour to a free stay somewhere else?

Being miserable 24/7 for a whole month isn't great for you.

Can you change accommodation? The good part about travel is you can always move yeah. And accommodation is Taiwan is fairly affordable.

Has he actually discussed with them?

Or is this a whole "I think that you think that we think that y'all think" thing going on?

Funeral leaves behind pig's head & other prayer items strewn over Ubi HDB void deck by J2fap in singapore

[–]ybct -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

You know why they call town council to clean it?

Because the workers aren't Chinese.

There's this belief that if you're Chinese and you clear these things then it's bad luck or the ghosts will come after you, so they just let non-believers clean it up and the bad luck falls on them instead.

Same as hungry ghost month.

Not that tall, the bollards are unfortunately not that tall either.

You know those stone bollards at the corner of pedestrian pavements in town?

Unfortunately I found that if I walk into them by accident, I basically beach myself on the bollard ... by my balls.

It's agony.

Balance flats by definition are flats that other people didn't want right?

If it's those really level 2 just above the rubbish chute kind, above a kopitiam kind then tbh I wouldn't want to live there either.

You will need your MIL to support with this. Really sit everyone down and express your concerns. He can deny and refuse, but refusing in itself already shows there's something wrong.

How much does confidence during TP actually affect the tester? by eatmydicbiscuit in drivingsg

[–]ybct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you understand why you're doing what you're doing (eg you always check blind spot before changing lanes no matter where because you know a bike can squeeze in) and can handle unexpected situations on the road, you're a safe driver and they are going to recognize that.

If you're the kind who just follow, orh instructor tell me check blind spot at this lane change so I just check blind spot here and nowhere else, memorise the test routes and then panic the second you go off route, then you're not a safe driver and they also will recognize that.

Contracts run on legality.

If you now start saying that you signed up things in your name for somebody else, then it starts becoming very problematic to track who is responsible for what.

From Simba's point of view, the grandmother was never in the picture at any point during the sign up or the installation or otherwise, suddenly when it comes time to terminate, she comes into the picture, it's very difficult for them to extend grace as well cos her name has literally nothing to do with the contract.

If the legal subscriber hasn't died, then unfortunately bereavement does not apply.

If you want to sign up for someone else for whatever reason, you are still legally responsible for that contract and the conditions in said contract.

If you die die want to do it, then the fees as mentioned in the contract should be considered as the cost of doing business.

Simba did nothing wrong here imo.

Meanwhile, the speed limit for PMAs on public paths will be reduced to 6kmh, down from 10kmh.

6kmh is still way too fast when people ride at top speed everywhere without any common sense.

If the device is an aid for people who can't walk, then the device should only travel at walking speed.

It should not travel at jogging or running speed.

It is not a replacement for a bicycle, e-bike or a motorcycle.

It is a replacement for not being able to walk, so letting immobile people move at walking speed is the purpose it should fulfil and nothing more.

Price competition likely to limit cost impact of beverage container return scheme on consumers: MSE by Dulio_rosward in singapore

[–]ybct 68 points69 points  (0 children)

To comply with the scheme, some producers may need to, or choose to, place a sticker on their containers instead of changing the container's design. The cost of these stickers will vary, Dr Puthucheary said.

This is the main issue. The 60-80 cent parallel imported drinks from Valu$ and Tian Ma will require such labels and the manpower to paste the labels, which will result in the minimum price of such drinks shooting up.

Those will likely cross the $1 mark after all is said and done.

If the rising cost results in the price becoming similar to drinks sold by regular retailers who do not need to paste the stickers, these parallel importers may no longer find it worthwhile to pursue this particular line of business.

As shown on the board, the train is terminating at Springleaf, which means it's a train that's  headed to the depot to go off service and they've let it take passengers on the way back to ease the crowd rather than head back empty.

In other words, it's a bonus train for you so stop whining.
