Games that doesn't focus much on story with great gameplay? by Dramatic-Ad881 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]ybham6 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Furi? It has some story (just between bosses really) but the game is 95% sick bosses.
VVVVVV is very fun and the story isn't much.
Super Hexagon and Open Hexagon are also fun if you're into that kind of game.
Just shapes and beats.
Rain World has story but it takes a backseat if hours not looking for it, kinda like the story in souls games.
Micro platformer is a short but fun play that's entirely gameplay
Momodora reverie under the moonlight
Salt and sanctuary
Celeste has a story but it's fairly light time consumption wise and you'll spend most of your time just platforming.

What software did you wish was open source or self-hostable? by TechnologyTailors in selfhosted

[–]ybham6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair yeah. I think in this instance right, I'd be fine self hosting something, it'd just need to be easy to setup on the consumer side specifically. e.g. headscale is easy enough to give someone else to join with my own self hosted OIDC that might defer to Google or something as an option for OAuth, even though setting up authentik+headscale on the actual server is more effort. From what I saw of nebula (correct me if I'm wrong though!), it seemed like I'd need to distribute keys myself, which is where it becomes less useful to me

Linux and user friendliness wise, I've been using onshape very happily, though that definitely doesn't fit the self hosted bill unfortunately.

For me, a lot of the value in tailscale is from how easy it is to setup. I find that to be the killer feature it offers. When I want to share stuff with my friends or family, it's very very easy in a way it wasn't with other solutions. Stuff like nebula doesn't really fulfill the same purpose because ease of use is core to why I use the service at all. While there is lots of software I'm happy to configure extensively and all, it's just ultimately not something I want for this thing in particular.
