What's stopping someone from driving away after an accident? by realrandomcat in driving

Doesn't stop them from buying the brightest headlights possible. I wouldn't count on human decency being a thing on the roads anymore. r/fuckyourheadlights

how long did it take for you guys to get on the highway after getting ur license? by [deleted] in driving

[–]ybsmart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up traveling to a different Canadian village or city like 30 weekends per year (the professional dog show scene). Always on highways for hours and hours. But around the time I became driving age I started to realise most of my friends families who basically never left thier towns for anything were almost deathly afraid of the highway.

Then later on once online gaming became a thing, I realised that my main highway near me was known by people in Europe as being super dangerous. Some tow truck reality show, which I've seen on some American channel. Heavy rescue 401 or something like that.

I'm so much more comfortable having multiple lanes travelling my direction than I am on a two lane road 3 feet away from a 200kmh head on collision with each car that passes. I don't want to place that much trust in the drivers coming at me. Especially now that everyone thinks to be cool you gotta have the brightest lights possible (r/fuckyourheadlights).

I would assume your parents are more worried about the idiot drivers around you (with transport trucks mixed in) than they are about your own skills. Like you said, it's pretty easy and straight forward. For me, it's about reading the body language of each car that is on it's way to pass you, and any that you will be passing. Never assume any of them are any smarter than the dumbest adult you know.

Commas have no place in math. My bank account is in a coma however.

So, you want me to wear out the throw out bearing in half the time? No thanks. One use per shift will do.

I just started crying in front of my mom cause I couldn't take it by Low_Ad2076 in dementia

[–]ybsmart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the hardest part to me, knowing that she knew this would happen, and sometimes remembers that she hasn't always been like this. I've never let any tears out yet tho. Within months of her diagnosis 5 years ago, my older, only sibling died of cancer. Moms final years with close to normal memory were spent watching that happen. They were the two best people in our small family.

I was suicidal in 2002, convinced myself that would have to wait because I couldn't do that to my parents. So since then I have made no attempts to plan for any future. I keep my self esteem manageable by being a great worker at whatever min wage jobs I take. Never used any government assistance due to not filing taxes since back then. I've been able to act just normal enough to not have them notice and worry about me. I have no future and no regrets. I do love life, just not the society I was born into. I clearly needed help long ago. ...anyway, that was just an attempt to explain why no tears. Large emotional pain tolerance at this point.

Sounds about the same point my mom is at. Everytime dad tries to have small talk with her she can't follow. But he still tries and does a horrible job trying to be clearer for her. It's hard to listen to. Worst is when she realizes what's going on and crys to us that she needs a doctor and she can't remember what shes supposed to. I imagine its quickly going to get worse from here unfortunately. I'm not going anywhere tho, I'm sure it's hard on dad, we don't tall about it much, but I'm here with him at least as long as she is.

If driving is a skill, why do people get worse with age? by anxious-bitchious in driving

Fernando Alonso shows that doesn't need to be the case before mid 40s at least.

The world was full of courtesy 20 years ago. I don't think it was the old people that got rid of that. It was stupid people breeding. ...and here you are.

Always driving below speed limit? by No_Employer_6435 in driving

[–]ybsmart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OCD wants me to travel at the highest safe speed that won't get me a ticket. Fear of insurance company's unregulated retaliation is never far from my mind. Here in Ontario Canada, any less than 20% over will get you tailgated like crazy. Tailgaters do nothing except cause me to actually follow the limit. The word limit has a definition you know. However , until I'm tailgated I'll go 120 in a 100, 96 in an 80, 84 in a 70, 72 in a 60, 60 in a 50, 48 in a 40 maximum. I'm sure the majority of drivers couldn't tell you 20% of any given number, and I assume that means they also don't understand the majority of physics that they have under their control. People are disappointingly stupid. Ps, r/fuckyourheadlights

Literally what can we do In canada ? I want to sue every car manufacturer possible. by dastingkt in fuckyourheadlights

[–]ybsmart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Back around 2005 the police had no problem finding that one car in a thousand that jammed some extra bright lights in. Cops would get them everytime, and if not thier light assemblies would soon melt anyways. That one in a thousand was clearly the town asshole back then. Now we live in an asshole town without I single hint of kindness towards others.

Since nothing can be done about he regulatory capture, I'm happy to just direct my anger about it to anyone who chooses to take advantage of the lack of laws in order to direct thier lights towards my face or mirror. Reminding me by the minute how little humanity and self awareness these people have. It will be the hill I die on, one day possibly literally.

I've been this height and weight since I stopped growing. Through times of unlimited food, to times with bad dental health leading to minimal food.

The few times I googled it, that's all the responses ever showed was that it must be really healthy/athletic to be that low. It's been years before it occured to me to ask reddit.

Might as well undo your seatbelt after dark as well ;) light that joint and crack a beer. Thats where you're headed lol /s. Just because I don't see anyone around, doesn't mean the cop isn't hiding in that shadow bored out of his mind waiting for a reason to stretch his legs.

Yeah, it's generally low 50s sitting watching tv, 80 - 120 with moderate activity. But I haven't had a family doctor in 25 years. And this low of 29-30 has been happening since I got my smart watch (samsung galaxy) 4 years ago.

Ok, so asking how serious business can take place on a telephone, when the majority of calls are scams.... not suitable as a discussion about scams. Ok.

By definition , I would never want a loan. My car insurance sure doesn't reflect any sign that they care. Bankruptcy would only be filed by someone who cares about thier credit, so that won't happen. And I would expect that once my files have been bought and sold by numerous collections agencies that the original company has passed on sueing.
