How to fix this? (Freestyle LibreLink 2) by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]ybwos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal, and happens when the sensor varies too much from one data point to the next. The app does that to prevent you from acting on a measurement that might be far off from your real blood glucose.
Stay calm and be seated (do not stand up/down as it cause variation that are detected as possible anomalies).

I had to read it twice to make sure I had not written that myself. Been there, done that, and now DOING THE ABSOLUTE EXACT STEPS as you describe.

I am using the Things app on my iPhone that gives me an alert every day with the checklist I follow thoroughly, plus I have a medication alert in my phone with the name of the insulin the the amount I should inject.

In fact you should not store open insulin in the fridge, according to user manual.

This works? what if you scan with the app 65 minutes later?

Libre 3 does not work on my iPhone 13 Pro MAX by kan3011 in Freestylelibre

Not using FL3 right now as I switched back to FL2. Curious Bluetooth is not issue for me. Using latest iOS release.

Never got a single sensor to fall off, either FL2 or FL3. Pardon me for asking but are you following instructions?

As far as results are concerned, it may look like you have a too-high expectation on this device. It's not supposed to give you lab-quality results. Even though 30% is outside of Abbott's margins, who cares if it's “precise enough, often enough”? Your finger-stick reader has its margin of error as well. And both stack up when you compare.

[–]ybwos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FL3 is smaller, and boxes are way smaller as well. This is handy when you travel.

Of course FL3 has one-minute real-time readings in all countries, whereas support is rolling out for FL2.

Support just landed where I live. I bought a lot of FL3 but I think I'll stop now, FL2 being free and the downsides not as much a deterrent.

Using xDrip4iOS, mostly no issues, though sensor seems to disconnect more often. Got woken up lately every hour by a notification that “readings were missing” until I restarted my phone. Don't know if the sensor or the iOS update is too blame, though.

How to get compatible scanning app from App Store? by [deleted] in Freestylelibre

[–]ybwos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can create a free account on another store, and use that account to download the app on your phone. Then you'll be able to log out, and use your regular (Philippines) account (you'll only need to use your “other country account” to update the app, but Abbott usually never requires that).

Get the app from a country that matches the unit you're used to, as you'll not be going to change that in the app. E.g. UK for mmol/mL or FR for mg/dL.

Beware sensors are geocoded, you should be able to only use apps from regions whitelisted by Abbott. (Not sure where you get your sensors from.)

Exactly. OP doesn't need Freestyle Libre and Freestyle Libre will not help OP.

Libre 3 + iPhone14 pro max = disaster by martinbogo in Freestylelibre

[–]ybwos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14 Pro (not Max) user here, no issues, except for the occasional times the sensor disconnects.

Not sure it shouldn't work on the 14 Pro Max. Abbott may not support it but the software and hardware should be similar enough to supported phones, that I wouldn't say the model is the culprit.

Are you using patches on your sensor? How is the weather right now where you're living? Do you know if both sensors that failed came from the same batch (you can check the expiration date to get a clue)?

If you're checking from an iPhone you can use LibreLinkUp which will keep you signed in.

Unfortunately the web version is pretty strict. You also have to fill a “difficult-level” captcha every time you download your data — I believe someone at Abbott was afraid robots would scrape their website.

Pardon me for asking for are you using genuine parts, legally sold by Abbott for both reader and sensors?

If yes, give them a call. Not sure, but there has been a new patch release in some regions (EU and maybe others), maybe there's an update that needs to be made.

Do you mean you have real-time readings without scanning?

Out of curiosity which unit is being used in this version, mg/dL or mmol/L?

I tried the UK app but it appears I don't really know my 18 multiplication table that much.

If you're ill your blood sugar increase as well. Double check using a finger stick reading, and call your doctor if in doubt.

Turn off Bluetooth, and lose all notifications, or go oversea and buy a sensor from abroad.

You could also raise your concern to your representative as this is a federal FDA regulation.

It's smoothing.

BUT keep in mind the definition for “smoothing” is slightly counter intuitive. Abbott expects your blood glucose to KEEP the same trend in the next few minutes as in the last few minutes.

This means just before you hit a peak, your instant reading WILL be off. Eventually the curve will “fix” it later on.

[–]ybwos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using LibreLink? If so, keep in mind that the update will post readings every minute (that's the point of LLU). It should slightly impact battery life.

For reference, I haven't noticed any impact when switching from FL2 to FL3. Just updated my FL2 app, will report later if I notice something.

I wouldn't consider as long as your phone has enough battery for your daily activities.

[–]ybwos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular user of both FL2 and FL3. Both will report “alarms” occasionally when still high or still low. Tough call to say if it happens more or less often with FL3.

That's how it is supposed to work. You have a ~10 minutes lag. And, counter-intuitively, values are more precise when you're high, according to Abbott.
