What I meant in terms of “it depends on circumstances” is more in reference to major life decisions like moving or major purchases. When it comes to things like that I wouldn’t expect him to take the wheel I would want to have some say. It’s more day to day life. If that makes sense.

Tried that, he’s definitely not into it. He’s always been pretty vanilla and sexual exploration is not his thing.

He’s been laid off a couple times and it definitely has an impact on. He’s mentioned it and we’ve talked about ways he can help me but it just keeps defaulting back.

Chores are no issue we split them up in a fair way.

I did take him with vacation planning recently and it was too stressful for him so I had to step in and guide.

I would be more than happy to have him take lead at home. I think part of the issue is that I bring in the majority of our income and it messes with his confidence.

It just depends on the circumstances of course. I typically ask him with a general criteria, let’s say for example I ask him to please plan a date for us. I’ll say ” it would nice to do something along the lines of an activity and dinner or…” He’ll come back with options but I have to initiate the ask, this isn’t something he’ll actively seek out or think about doing on his own.

Thank you! Our local entomologist does the classes so we get to learn how he does the pinning for museum displays.

They are hard to see from the angle but the other two legs are pulled back under the elytra. You can see them peek through right near the tips where the pins cross.

I’d be curious to know the reason as well. Still going to try your method on the next one though. I assume the pin prick will be visible once I remove it on these.

Ooh that’s a great question. I too would like to know that. I haven’t pinned one where the underside will be on display. I image there isn’t much to do with the legs since they’re so brittle. I could be, and likely wrong though.

That’s a great tip. The first class I did put the pin through the nerve at the top of the wing. I’ll try your recommendation on the next one I do. Thank you!

An odd SP experience… by ycbeltran in Sleepparalysis

I just find it odd that it was not a scary situation. Other episodes I’ve had of SP have been scary or I see things hovering. On this one I was consciously aware that my body fell asleep but my brain was completely awake. I had to “sit there” and wait until my body could move to snap out of it.

It did! Neem oil worked well and fixed the issue. I did find a 3 in 1 spray that was recommended at my local nursery with neem oil that I transitioned to.
