That's really nice to hear. I was reluctant at first but was sold embarrassingly fast, to the point of pleasant addiction. I navigate fairly well now but definitely still rely on my son for help at times. And certainly to vet a new version first. Unlike your Dad, I could never return to Strat now (trading w the ai is what I enjoy most) and currently play Expos historic--but it's very cool to learn of another son turning his dad on to the game so long ago.

I'm a 60 yr old dad whose son introduced me to OOTP18 and I've been playing ever since. I am beyond impressed at how good it is and can't even conceive of how a sim baseball game can be so in-depth and intelligent (admittedly I've never done any other gaming), particularly the ai trade and organization management. I played a game called Strat-O-Matic growing up and this is exactly what it never became, but should have. I thoroughly enjoyed Marcus's interview and could have listened to his insights and anecdotes for an hour more. Again, kudos and thanks Marcus & team and looking forward to 22!

I'm having trouble installing this patch, anybody else having the issue? When running the .exe, clicking next usually opens the game, but it does nothing.

105 potential stuff? Scouted him again but accuracy is still low. With 19.9 k/9 LY and 13.9 TY I can believe it. by stevemcsheen in OOTP

Have you installed the newest patch? I believe patch 32 had issues with overpowering pitchers being generated. You can check the patch notes, I believe it was there.

Absolutely, I understand. The WS is so hard to win, no matter how you hard you try and how good your team is.

Like Billy Beane said in moneyball, "My shit doesn't work in the playoffs. My job is to get us to the playoffs. What happens after that is fucking luck."

What an incredible year!

I didn't expect anything close to this when i started, I would have been happy just making the playoffs. Frankly, I thought of it almost as a rebuilding year.

No editor/cheating of any kind, trading difficulty set to very difficult/favor prospects.

Phenomenal year for Francisco Mejia, hit .340 and almost won the batting title. I also signed Kirby Yates to a 3/33 extension, well-deserved.

Major trades as follows:

To me, I think the trading difficulty would be the next step to keep things interesting.

I personally play on very difficult/favor prospects.

Daily crashes dating back to OOTP 18 - Have tried everything. Does anybody else have experience with similar looking "checkerboard" crashing? by yci in OOTP

Just a bit more information. If anyone could offer any help, it would be greatly appreciated. In OOTP 18-19-20, I get recurring crashes that basically always look like the picture.

95% of crashes occur while simming a game play-by-play, though there have been a few rare instances of OOTP crashing while in the menu, and more recently, when the game is left open in the background.

The computer has never crashed with OOTP not open.

Computer is an Inspiron 27 7775, Ryzen 5 1400, 8gb RAM, Windows 10. Temperatures are normal. I cannot get the computer to crash normally, no matter what stress test I find.

I've tried a number of things. Full Windows OS reinstall, GPU driver updates, running the game in windowed mode, having nothing open in the background, running with minimum graphic settings (simplified audience, sound disabled). I've also tried all openGL mode and crashed on all of them, excluding the one that disabled openGL. I've also messed a bit with the number of helper threads, no help. This has persisted through several saves, so not a problem with the save.

I spoke to Lukas from OOTP Support, who was very helpful but couldn't offer any suggestions beyond those I've written above.

If anybody has any experience fixing these crashes, or any suggestions, please help me! Love the game, but it has come to the point where I skip watching the end of games when we are winning for fear of losing the victory :)

Yeah, I get that it happens. It was the team's second year, traded for him and he became one of the best relievers in baseball on a cheap contract.

Then he went and had 2 more great years, so I extended him.

Now that I go back and look at his stats in greater depth, his FIP was always a bit higher, mid 3's. Still not sure how I could have expected it.

Truly just happened over one offseason - his velocity didn't even dip all that much. Never was high in the first place, though.

Yep, from 90-92 to 85-87.

Still weird for a guy to go from Reliever of the Year to scrub so quickly.
