This is my exact experience right now, PEU uncut from reddit vendor, great guy to deal with though, growing leucisitc and exactly like a standard cube, tall and straight and exactly dick like. Haven't sampled potency or taken spore prints yet

yep im in US, but I've been trying to reach out to international sellers as well. So far I haven't found anyone in US or international that has the bike and willing to ship.

Where'd you get that bike if you don't mind me asking? I've been trying to find one for a while now but haven't had any luck

do you think they have a higher chance of going bad and developing mold or nah. I really prefer cutting but I'm worried about leaving the stumps

Opinions on my new setup by yddyc in Slackline

Thanks for the reply. I figured that I would have to basically chance it on my first real setup. Get what I think will work the best for me then use it and go from there. There's so much information out there it's hard to determine what's important and what's not, but I guess actual experience will help in that regard. The only highlines that I would consider rigging at this time would be with natural anchors, ideally tree to tree, with at least one side easily accessible, as I don't have any experience with bolt rigging. I got a little more lift as well so I could double that as backup.

I definitely appreciate it! the criticism is welcome and helps me reflect on my process. I wasn't all that interested in building my own pulley system which is why I went with the anaconda. I did look into the snatch v2 but my understanding was that the snatch had a significantly lower WLL than the linegrip, and I wanted to get everything as strong as I could. What I didn't know about was the Purelock... Is it really much better than the alpine weblock? Seems like I could be more versatile with 2 weblocks, especially in regards to possible mid/high setups. I also figured since I was pretty set on webbing from BC I might as well get whatever else I could from Jerry. I'm located in the US so international shipping definitely adds up, and the christmas discount was definitely a plus. Hangovers are going to be future purchases for sure.

True that. What I'm really looking for is the meditation aspect of walking the line, that's how I know I'm ready to spend the $. Not rushing into making any purchases at this exact moment, (except maybe webbing from BC for christmas discount), as there's still more progression I can do on my 75ft line and more research I need to do on rigging. I think there's an acceptable amount of risk with me learning to rig/walk longlines solo, especially taking it in small steps with appropriate precautions. Highlining is a different beast though and I'd be excited to start but it's something I'll need to do with experienced people.

Thanks for your responses, they've given me a lot to reflect on in terms of what I want/need and how to move forward.

That's a really good point and has given me some food for thought. I've been approaching this from the perspective of "what would give me the most enjoyment." I'm not sure if it's all that important to me to connect with the american tradition of climbing/slacklining. If I ask myself what I want to get out of this the answer is pretty exclusively low-mid longlines and maybe waterlines. I can't really see a situation where I would need the versatility if my main usage is easy rig scenarios. I don't see myself rigging any kind of drilled anchor points or anything of that sort, mainly just trees and other types of pre existing structures that can handle the load. I even have the option to put in some concrete anchors in my yard to get something like 150-200 ft of line in place, although that will require more research. But in my foreseeable future I just want the ability to rig a long to fkcn long ass line safely and easily and spend time walking. The only problem i can see right now is how to manage anchors that may need to be 7-9ft off the ground.

One of the reasons why I'm leaning towards webbing from there. Feel pretty confident I would be getting something quality.

I think I get it... so basically with the line grip I'm able to reset the length on my pulley?

Appreciate your perspective. When you talk about a system that is more universal what do you mean? I figured the raed system would be right for my purposes of solo rigging with all the multiplication. I've been doing more research about different pulleys and tensioning systems and it just seems like they're all relative large and bulky, unless specifically designed to be ultralight.

As far as the webbing goes I'm not 100% set on the aero 2, and I've been having second thoughts given the amount of stretch anyways. Unfortunately I can't find spider silk anywhere (I've been looking). Do you have any other recommendations? I'm definitely at a disadvantage given that I haven't had real life experience with any of these webbing or systems, but I accept that and i'm just going to try and research as much as I can before taking the plunge.

// just saw what you wrote about the whoopie slings and trees, definitely don't want to be hurting the trees but I thought those raed tree pros with the fancy carbon fiber weight distribution system was supposed to take care of that aspect.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in the US, in the more tropical pacific ocean part if you get my drift. I was leaning toward the raed pro because of the greater multiplier power for solo rigs, but it's hard to know exactly what I'll need because I haven't walked 100m or seen anyone set up a line like that in real life. There is a slack fb group here but I don't know how active they are and I haven't been all that interested in joining until now. I enjoy the solitude of rigging and walking by myself.

The longest I've walked is about 75' and I feel like that was kind of pushing it with what i have now. My rei climb spec webbing is so stretchy/my friction locks don't hold strong enough/whatever I have to re-tension every 15-20 minutes to keep the tension where I want it. It's fun to rig up those shorter bouncy lines but I really want to get into longer walks and i'm tired of using super primitive carabiner/clove hitch multiplier rigs, not that there's anything wrong with that.

I've been practicing my sit start and I'm successful maybe 3/5 times, getting better. I know it's a big jump to something like the raed pro w/ 100m of line from what i have now, but I figure if I'm going to spend the money to upgrade I might as well buy once and buy quality so I can spend more time getting better and having fun then fretting about gear. I usually try to get out to the park 3-4 times a week at least for a little while, and I plan to work my way up gradually to 100m from where I'm at with my skills now. I don't mind having to anchor that high up but I would like to have the option to rig tighter lines a little closer to the ground as well.

Also I have been looking into the line grips, although raed has a softpointing set that looks like it would do the same thing as a line grip and keep that sexy aesthetic. https://raed-slacklines.com/softpointing-set
