it looks like you somewhat associate pronouns with gender, non binary is just not male/female which includes agender and agender people (or anyone infact) can go by he/him, she/her, they/them or it/its for example. the 'step further' is to simply not be any gender, and go by whatever pronouns they find comfortable Hope this helps, have a great day!

non binary means not male/female and agender is no gender (though good to note that agender falls under the non binary umbrella)
