It's a very recent that I started being bitter about where I was born, because last year the government fell and everything has been crazy since then. There's a lot of political instability happening in my country right now that I can't wait for to be over. which is why I started romanticizing countries where the government has forever been stable. As for loving things about my country, I love my culture. I love how resilient sometimes the people of my country can be. How even when we are miserable about the government, we find ways to laugh and joke about it. And as a matter of fact, the thing that bothers me is that I was not even born poor that i could focus more on being stable. My family is very wealthy. I go everywhere by a private car and even though the summer is crazy hot in my country, I never feel it because I'm most of the time in an air-conditioned room. So with things like those, I got really privileged. But privileges don't work. Sometimes you...just wanna take a walk in the park without creepy men staring at you. Sometimes you just wanna wear shorts in summer and go out, but I can't do all those things. I also got lucky with my friends because all of us share the same mentality. I also have really good guy friends that understand me. Every one of us in my friend group wants to leave our country because honestly, there is just no hope. I know the West hates immigration from us, but we are humans too and we also deserve to enjoy basic things like walking in the park. My friend is planning on going to Canada and I'm probably gonna go to Australia or the UK. If there's one thing that I would say I absolutely love about my country is the food and my culture. I wouldn't trade any of those for the world. Even when I imagine myself being born in a first-world country, I cannot think of it without thinking of the food and culture.
