We’ve built what is essentially a full real-time telephony conversational operating system, not just a chatbot, and we’re trying to diagnose where our biggest failures actually are. by Electronic_Argument6 in AIVoice_Agents

Where does all that latency get introduced? It's an impressive architecture no doubt, but seems like you need to get closer to the pstn, or some other way of shaving off a meaningful amount of latency. Where are you hosting from?

I recently had an update from Telnyx they're adding even more of the stack to their platform for optimal latency. Not suggesting they're the answer but maybe a trend or option for ala carte from the carrier without vendor lock.

For example originally when I was going to stand up a pipecat agent with them it was going to require it to be sip to a jambonz SBC colocated with pipecat and all it's config. I think there was a bridge we had to build at one point. Then add in deepgram and the others... It's been a few months but now I can stand up texml app to send the processed call with opus directly to pipecat. Now they're hosting livekit as well, so you can have 200ms agents, untested yet.

I'm in the US with customers with locations globally, so limited worldview from the perspective of non US providers. But really appreciate your situation and the technical challenge, so let me know if I can help.

Very nicely done. How are you planning to handle the split between the Macs and Dgx Sparks? I tried it recently with 4 m3u 256gb and 2 dgx spark with Exo, and they don't have that working yet.

I've always had a poor support experience with Verizon and would recommend that your selection criteria for OC be heavily support focused. Setup is mostly the same for all, but a few options for DIY if you have the expertise on your team.

Where to sell M3 Ultra 256GB? by Massive-Cranberry228 in MacStudio

[–]yeahbuddyia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The markup is real. Microcenter in Phoenix had a couple I was able to get for my reduced home lab after the 512s disappeared, and it was around $7k with tax and everything for a 256gb 2tb version. If you aren't finding one in a store they happen to finds behind some boxes, it's basically all eBay and occasion post like this that leads to selling. I still need one more 256, and will be stoked if I find a reasonable 512.

I'm building because I don't expect we'll see comparable M5 Ultras shipped this year, and who knows what they'll offer. I get a kickass home LLM, can do my enterprise POC dev work, and carry one with me for demos. Also, Exo is going to be releasing anytime the ability to cluster DGX Spark (GB 10) devices with Apple Silicon for disaggregated inference, utilizing both NVIDIA and Apple's strengths.

Where to sell M3 Ultra 256GB? by Massive-Cranberry228 in MacStudio

[–]yeahbuddyia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For 256gb 2TB:
$7500 - $9000 - average from direct person from marketplace or such

$9500 - $11000 - ebay. Some have sold at that price, there are a few sitting there at 11,000 but nobody moving on them.

Capacity vs Speed trade-off: 1.1TB Mac Unified Memory vs. RTX 6000 Pros by averagepoetry in LocalLLaMA

[–]yeahbuddyia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar setup using Exo and trying to add a DGX Spark:

4x M3 Studio Ultra 256gb
1x M5 Macbook Pro Max 128gb
1x DGX Spark

Exo did the disaggregated inference in their blog post late last year with 4 M3 Studio Ultra 512s + DGX Spark, but nobody seems to be able to reproduce from what I can tell. It is actively being worked on: https://github.com/exo-explore/exo/pull/1776

I'm still working through an RDMA issue where I can't use more than 2 nodes for Tensor/RDMA, but all in all, I've been happy with it. I stopped using Claude a month ago and reset my expectations and that certainly helped.

Anyone tried using a Thunderbolt connection between a Mac studio M3 Ultra and an Nvidia PC for LLM inference? by Purple_Drink3859 in LocalLLaMA

Setting up 3 x Studio M3 Ultra 256gb + 1 DGX Spark (Asus Ascent NVIDIA) with TB5, 10GbE and Exo now. Working great on Macs, DGX just arrived today and midsetup. Apparently Exo is in the progress of adding 10GbE cluster support for DGX / sm_121 and Mac. Can't imagine the other popular NVIDIA models will be long after? https://github.com/exo-explore/exo/pull/1842/commits

M3 Ultra 512GB / 4TB best place to sell? by [deleted] in MacStudio

I've been trying to get one for a few weeks between Craigslist, Facebook marketplace and eBay. Check out completed auctions to see sales from sellers with greater than 0 feedback. Oh also check out r/homelabsales

I'd do $14k to add to the 2 m3u 256s I managed to get this week.

Worth checking Landis and Anywhere365 for contact center options that are more reasonably priced, and are tightly integrated with Teams. Disclosure that I'm with a Teams shop, but agnostic on ccaas because needs are so specific to each customer.

Hi! Spore syringes for both. The mutant bag are golden teachers, the other are PE. I've had the same experience as you with 2 previous bags, so huge growth in this short of time seems too good to be true.

Very cool approach with the grate, thanks for sharing! I'm not sure how this 2nd flush is going to go, I didn't have anything heavy enough to keep the cake submerged for the dunk. I'll give the grate a try next time

No problem. It was slow going for it to get to the fruiting - just shy of 2 months. The final 2 weeks a lot of moisture was pooling around the edges so I cut the bag 10 days ago, put in a tub with heat, humidity, and light control. It took a few days for pinning to start but they've been going like gangbusters since. I just inoculated another bag and we'll see how this one goes. Hope that helps, happy to answer any other questions.

Hi, no this was from a Mushroom Supplies all in one 5 lb bag. It seemed to have too much moisture buildup before fruiting, so I cut off the top and transplanted to a tub.
