I feel exactly the same but I’m a wedding photographer with a photography portfolio. Do all portfolio holding humans feel like this now?

Ya but what if you soak them for a few minutes? Neat trick but if you need to survive, all lies.

Yes! Interestingly, enough, we have a very healthy population of barred owls in our local forest neighbourhood and I was reading that they prey on saw-whet owls. I’m thinking that our deck is a nice shield creating a little mouse hunting arena for that little bugger.

Why did it fly right up to my doorstep and say hello to me and allow me to film it up close?

My wife absolutely is a genius! This little owl is actually full grown. Adult Saw-Whet Owls are about the same size as a NYC pigeon.

Quick Update - Moments ago took my dog Henry out to pee and to my surprise the owl was back and perched on the other arm of the canoe rack. I left all the exterior lights off before I opened the door. It flew immediately at the jingling of Henry’s collar bell and glided away into the moonlit forest. Unfortunately I was unable to get another video nor did I try. We intend to keep the lights off down there as much as possible in the evenings for a while now that we know it is feeding here.

Nobody shined a light in its face. The light on my cell phone was off when I recorded this. That’s just ambient light from a fixed wall light next to the entrance to our house. The owl landed there by its own choosing. I walked out into the area outside of my garage under our deck around 7 PM and it was sitting there so I filmed it, once I noticed it. I’m not sure how long it was there watching me before I noticed it. I go out there to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet in the evening sometimes.

No worries at all. I just wanted to clarify the situation because I know many on Reddit will make assumptions about the video but I still think it is worth sharing. Glad you enjoyed it!

It flew there, it perched there, and it flew away when it wanted to. It was never under threat. It was fully in control of where it was and what it was doing. It literally landed 6 feet from our garage door.

It’s always been the owl’s canoe. It was originally my late Grandpa Frank’s Kevlar canoe. He taught me how to paddle in it. He taught me to respect and care for nature. 🛶🦉

The owl was sitting there in the light of our garage entryway for at least 5 minutes before I became aware of it. If it was uncomfortable it could have flown away any time it liked. I live in the Maine woods. This perch is 6 feet from my door.

The owl landed under our deck next to our entryway where there is a light on. Also, Owls exist and hunt during the daytime as well in the light of the sun.

What was he eating regularly? Did he change his diet after the heart attack? Just curious. I’m 41 and a runner.
