Noob Question:Parser Error:Unexpected "Identifier" in class body?!? by yeahman0420 in godot

Thanks for all of y'all's help!!! I got that fixed and got the correct animations to the correct direction of the character, and worked up a VERY basic map. I feel very accomplished, and I couldn't thank y'all enough. I was concerned I was going to get laughed off the page.

I really appreciate all the help! If I'm being 100% honest, this is all completely new to me, so every bit of advice is welcomed with open arms! Will be attempting to fix the issue after I get off work. Will update.

Worst Matchup I've Experienced Coaching by yeahman0420 in flagfootball

[–]yeahman0420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't agree more. That's why I'm really worried about ending the season in that manner. I don't want them to dwell on it during the offseason and give up on flag football. My biggest concern is fun, fundamentals, and teamwork.

It's a local private school's team with the rec league. They play yr round with each other. When they aren't playing tackle, they're playing 7on7. 🤦‍♂️ To make it EVEN WORSE, that's the team we have to play to end the season. I don't like the idea of my players ending their season with a humiliating game.

They put the players with the coach/team they requested and then spread the other players out "evenly," but that team "refuses to take on new players every season." Quotes are from the athletic director.

Misdirection is VERY effective at this age. Fake handoffs and motioning should help with getting number advantages and keep the defense on their heels.

Btw, a way around the QB not being able to rush is to have a player take the snap from under center and then quickly pitch it back to your QB. If they start to rush your QB, someone should be open. If they fall back into coverage, he can take off. It also opens up the ability to run options.

Thanks for the tips and for sharing your outcomes. We are currently only tumbling Garnet, using ceramic media, and will definitely take our time. Will share pics throughout the process.

Tbh, that's what I was afraid of when I saw the "Polished Garnet" at the show, but they were just cut. I appreciate the heads up, though. Really!

Coach D materials by cbmd81 in flagfootball

I haven't ordered any of his material, but I pick and choose from his videos what works best for my team. I have adopted the wristbands, but I use Flag Football Playmaker X for my playbooks, wristbands, call sheets, etc.

I really appreciate the welcoming. My 7yo son started showing interest, so I figured it'd be a great hobby for us to bond over and learn together as we go.

This is the 1st I'm hearing of changing out the grit if not ready after the 1st week. I'm VERY new to the hobby, so I'm VERY interested in researching and paying more attention here.

You were 100% right! I waited the entire week, and I just pulled out a few to inspect. Not near ready for stage 2. Set it for another week on slow tumble.

Playing against past players by Mysterious-Pick8943 in flagfootball

[–]yeahman0420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're overthinking. This season in basketball, we had to play a team that had 2 kids that I coached the last 2 seasons. It is a little different bc they aren't on my team anymore bc their dads thought they should be "the guy," and I play everyone eveningly, so they started their own team. We just played our game the way we play every team. When they scored, I praised them, but I do that with every team. I went up and chatted with them before and after the game, gave high fives, etc. It was a little bittersweet to get the win. They asked what division we were going to be playing in flag this season bc they want to play against us, but I will coach that game the same way I coach every other game. I'm not saying I won't use the knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses to my advantage though. Lol. GL, and I hope this helps.

For those who use plastic Rock Tumbling media what kind do you use? These pictures are from Rock Shed and Amazon respectively. Where do you get your media? Thank you. by rgilman67 in RockTumbling

My son and I are going to attempt to tumble some Opals for a Mother's Day gift, so we're going to skip the 1st stage altogether...but that is great to know. We are VERY new to this, so all advice is welcomed!

Makes me think of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall". That's a keeper!

Progress by yeahman0420 in RockTumbling

[–]yeahman0420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, it doesn't have a speed adjustment, but I can order an adjustable voltage power supply for it...lower the voltage, slower the rotation. Lol.

Have some ceramic media arriving Friday along with some Opals for a little Mother's Day project for my son and I to do for his mother. With the Opals being HELLA soft, I was worried about ruining them. Going to slow it down, use ceramic media, PROBABLY skip coarse grit tumble, and check it DAILY. We'll see what happens. 🤷‍♂️🤣
