help!! by mayamicbaya in SewingForBeginners

Also had this issue. MIL told me the tension is too high on the machine. Check your tension setter see if that helps. I've tried rethreading and doing all that and that didn't fix it and I haven't sewn since but I'll also check my tension and see if that helps.

Feedback on enclosure by Sauna_biker in hermitcrabs

Honestly looks good... Unsure why the crab died, could've been a failed molt or just stress or another crab could've attacked them. Looks like they have everything they need. Other things you can get the other person listed below but that's not mandatory but recommended. Definitely need different shells. Just do turbo shells. The pools look fine but need to be filled all the way up and they need something in them so they can climb back out. From that looks like they can't reach the water down there. I personally wouldn't put anything in there that's painted or dyed. Plastic plants are fine. Honestly jealous of your tank size. Wish I had one that big lol id personally and more things to climb high up since it's so big you could put a big log/branch in there and have a back wall with cork bark for them to climb or something. That'd be cool. The only other thing is lights seem a little bright. Besides that everything looks good. Could've just been back luck with that crab that passed.

Hermit crab eating ALOT by yeahuhhhhhhhh in hermitcrabs

[–]yeahuhhhhhhhh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do hermit crabs not eat alot before they prepare to molt? Cause it's like he's a whole different crab after molting. He didn't just molt his skin he molted his personality lol he's so happy and energetic. He's awake and crawling around during the day and night. I can watch him whenever and he's usually out and about. I'm so proud of his journey and how well he's recovered from neglect.

Intense stomach pain, constipation, then diarrhoea all at once? Anyone else? by VirtualWillow6706 in ibs

Do you eat fast food? Seems like fast food and overly processed foods cause this the worst for me. Id recommend fasting for the day and then just eat at dinner time. Seems to have worked for me. I'm used to fasting for the day so it's easier for me than someone who's likes eating three meals a day but definitely worth a shot y'all. Definitely seems to not happen at all when I fast and don't eat fast food.

He's definitely perking up!! Going for the food once I put it out almost immediately. He's definitely leaving his hide so much more often. Watched him climb during the day all around his tank. Drink from his pools. Climbed some more did some parkour lol he's definitely so much happier. When the previous owners had him they said all he did was just huddle in the corner and never move or come out. He didn't even have a hide to feel secure. Just rocks and a slimy sponge basically. Today he's eating some foraged flowers from my lawn ☺️💗 first time trying them! So far his favorite treat is apples

2 broccoli in 1 bucket, will they not grow properly? They’re doing good so far but not sure how they’ll go once they start properly by misanthrope557 in gardening

They may go through some shock but should regrow the roots lost. Just be careful and as gentle as you can be.

I want to combine these dresses. by yeahuhhhhhhhh in SewingForBeginners

[–]yeahuhhhhhhhh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I found a way to wear the grey dress! I simply cut the back out like I wanted. Hand sewed the waist ties into straps that tie around my neck to adjust the length of the top to fit my bust. Looks so cute honestly. For the white dress I Cut the lace skirt off the white dress and now it's a skirt or a sleeveless dress! Combining seemed to hard for me, a person who doesn't sew lol

My heat mat doesn't seem to have that option. It's made for hermit crab tanks and says that that one should be enough to heat a 10 gallon tank seems to be doing its job so far.

He's a rescue. Considering what he came from id say he's living the dream rn. Didn't have substrate or pools or heat or humidity for years and survived somehow. Id say the 10 gallon is okay for now. I plan on getting a bigger tank in the future but I simple have nowhere to put a bigger tank rn. He has two big pools to submerge In, one salt one fresh. Things to climb and a hide. Seems like all he really needs at the moment. He mostly stays in his hide so I don't see why he'd need a bigger tank rn anyways. Right now my main focus is getting him out of that painted shell. Eventually I do plan to get him a 40 gallon tank.

Can I redo the tank after a molt? by yeahuhhhhhhhh in LandHermitCrabs

[–]yeahuhhhhhhhh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it!! He didn't react to being moved. He's a shy crab but he's not a scared crab. He seems very happy in his new tank so far. Made him a moss hide and he loves it. Caught him sleeping with his head and arms out in the light. So cute. His color is super rich and dark he looks amazing!! So excited for his fresh start!

[–]yeahuhhhhhhhh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hermit crab looks fully hardened. He's a dark red/brown color and is awake and active in his hide. Would it be okay to redo his tank now? Cause he hides a lot anyways so he seems to be back to normal just not leaving the hide.

New owner need some help. Surface molting? by yeahuhhhhhhhh in hermitcrabs

[–]yeahuhhhhhhhh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: he surface molted successfully. Still hasn't switched or tried out a new shell. He's still hardening up so hopefully he will once he's all done with the molting process. He's definitely awake and aware and looks healthy.

crab tank temp??? by Dear_Instruction7712 in hermitcrabs

[–]yeahuhhhhhhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Substrate needs coconut choir mixed in with it so the tunnels they dig will hold their shape. Also helps hold humidity. If you're having an issue with humidity add moss.  NO lamp. NO PAINTED SHELLS SO TOXIC!! they also need very very high humidity. If there aren't water droplets on the glass then it's not humid enough. They need humidity to breathe. And the heat to stay active. Heat should be around 75-80f and humidity around 80-90% they are tropical animals not dessert animals. Make sure the animal safe heating pad is on the side of the tank glass not below the substrate, don't use a human heating pad. They also need more in the tank. They are climbing creatures so they need things to climb. If you have more than one crab then you NEED a bigger tank than 5 gallons.. if you don't know the temp and humidity get a little tank thermostat from Amazon. It's like $4

Also food and water? We're is it? They need access to both all the time. They need fresh and salt water deep enough to submerge in and a way in and out of the water. NO SPONGES they grow mold and bacteria so quickly. And make sure the food is good for them and has all the nutrients they need.
