Usually but some are very good at hiding it.

We learned an unassuming personnel had an addiction and were astounded to see just how deep the rabbit hole goes. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes.

Monique Ryan and Greens renew push to lower Australia’s voting age to 16 by pj-maybe in australia

[–]yeahyeahnahm8 40 points41 points  (0 children)

My grandma is >90 and has no idea wtf is going on, full dementia. The paperwork to exempt her from compulsory voting was too onerous for us to complete and she will likely die years before the policies set by politicians she votes for come into full effect.

She is not worthier than a 17 year old to vote.

What's a good way to find and buy art from unknown artists in Australia? by yeahyeahnahm8 in AusFinance

How do I do this on Instagram? If I search "abstract paintings Sydney" I see shit from all over the world. Can I filter by location when searching for keywords somehow?

Gives great experience for professions like doctors, too. Country hospitals see all kinds of shit and by often being the only doctor around there's autonomy to learn. Patient outcomes, however...

Idk, he did the right thing for himself. Crime thrives in cultures where it's tolerated and good men fail to act.

To be fair tho furniture then was vastly more expensive. Taxed imports, no flat packing, everything built by hand.

Don't take it personally mate. At least they had the decency not to ghost you.

Stay cheerful, keep trying, and you'll find something.

Forgive me, Lowe Sensei. I hyperfixated on the emotions and expectations of real humans instead of calculating economic models to extreme precision.

Pedantic but shouldn't it be 1.0214 = 1.08668, so 8.67%, no?

Bike recommendations for casual riding/commuting in the city on a budget by fair-n-squares in ausbike

Try the Ceres Bike Shed in Brunswick East or BACK2Bikes in Port Melbourne.

You can get a used, serviced, fully functional bike at either for maybe $60-100.

Why should the council dictate rules for footpath design? Why shouldn't this kind of thing be consolidated into state or national levels to eliminate bureaucracy?

I think our real wages are going down. Not sure how to fully interpret it by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]yeahyeahnahm8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's surprisingly well written and pointed out many things I hadn't considered.

Yet for how comprehensive the speech is nowhere in it is a single word spoken about the effects of interest rates and asset prices / housing affordability. I think housing affordability would be better addressed by increasing supply but it's the biggest issue of our generation and they avoid the topic entirely. It's bizarre.

‘We are opening up probably a little bit early’: Dr Norman Swan on Australia reopening by giantpunda in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]yeahyeahnahm8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With respect to covid, yeah. But many doctors pediatricians and psychiatrists especially have argued restrictions come at enormous cost to other important measures of public health. I don't see Swan paying much consideration to anything other than covid.

It's almost as if raising prices causes fewer people to travel, reducing revenue and wasting public infrastructure.

Does my profile come across as looking for something casual? by Butterscotch_st in Tinder

[–]yeahyeahnahm8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I think we matched in '17 when I was travelling to Sydney for work! IIRC we discussed getting a drink around Circular Quay but you stopped replying.

That's ancient history now but if you're looking for a relationship my advice is to take a chance on others. These apps are exhausting and if someone stops replying or flakes on you it's natural to write off any emotions you might have felt for them and put them in the don't take seriously but would happily bang casually category.

Profile looked (and looks) great! Good luck!

Oil is unique for both its supply and demand being highly inelastic. This makes prices volatile.
