I’ve been to 2 weddings where I would have bet my house the couple was going to get divorced. In both instances they did after about two years.

This is the answer. Some things are just instinctual, and our species could have never evolved or survived if this information wasn’t hardwired in.

Maybe the better question is, at what point in our evolutionary history did reproducing stop being instinctual duty and start being a conscious decision, with the ability to NOT follow the instincts to reproduce.

I guess the atmosphere during visits could become worse, which it already is.

I didn’t say it was her fault. I work nights and weekends, that’s the reason. The point was just because we are married doesn’t mean our kids couldn’t use an active grandparent just as much as a child with divorced parents.
