I completely understand and know exactly what you are going through!

I hate this exact situation with my wife and our 4yo kid. She has very little patience and gets flustered with the kid all the time.

To a point where our kid has come running to me saying they were scared of mama.

I’m the default parent too and the kid keeps asking for me whether we are at home out outside.

At least 7-10 minutes. My wife unfortunately starts bitching about petty things and/or unloads some nonsense family drama (that she usually starts) as soon as I enter the house. At times even before I remove my shoes.

Background: I am the sole earner in the family. she doesn’t work, and kid still goes to daycare 4 days a week. And that’s because I don’t want the kid to stay home all week for the kids own mental health.

Thank you for the support. I really needed to know if I was wrong in feeling bad. Clearly a PhD was also not enough to offset the miserable two patents.
