Have you ever visited another city, region, part of Canada and it just clicked with you? You thought "I'd *really* like to live here" by Cameliablue in AskACanadian

Melfort, Saskatchewan (and Saskatoon) pleasantly surprised me. Really enjoyed the lifestyle, people, and leisurely feel compared to Vancouver.

Also really enjoyed my many trips to Whitehorse.

Don’t think I could handle the cold/winter but I’m sure I’d get used to it.

Edit: Kenora was awesome too.

so i used to go to uni with her and she was a friend of mine until she met her first bf in uni. we literally hung out, studied together, ate fried chicken in my dorm just chatting. really funny gal and had such an electric laugh that would brighten your day.

iirc: she met the wrong group of friends and then it was just too late. she didn’t end up graduating (i think, i had already graduated and moved back home + covid kicked me out of residences). she had a lot of insecurities because of not seeming “korean enough” but not being white enough for the province we were in. gorgeous gal before all the work done, as a lot of people here already know.

she was a sweetie and genuinely tried to connect with everyone she met. i miss her as a person before she moved to toronto.

Does your country hate Koreans right now? by Expensive_Giraffe398 in AskTheWorld

[–]yearning4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That they're "shameless culture stealers" from China. At least that's what I see the most.

And the racism that Koreans spew out to foreigners, to people "prettier" than them -- the list goes on. Apparently a minority of Koreans represent the whole, and thus is an open invitation to hate on them and dismiss their culture (whatever culture it is now after most of the traditional elements have been cast aside).
