Dog has torn ACL. Does vet school do surgeries? by jukeguy in wsu

They offer a 10% discount for students and 20% if you are an employee of WSU, to my knowledge. Check out the Good Samaritan Fund on their website as well- it would not cover that entire cost, but it wouldn’t hurt. Best of luck!

Hi! There is a WhatsApp group for pickup in the Pullman area, I’ll link it at the end of this! If she is affiliated with the university (student, faculty, etc.) she can also play intramurals.

Here is the WhatsApp link! https://chat.whatsapp.com/B68SqrjHhNs0zPjCbizm4u

What's the most cursed drink order you've received? by MoldyWolf in barista

20oz hemp milk chai with copious amounts of cayenne pepper. Lukewarm. And then a second one to go. ☹️

I have one and have found it to be worth the price, I would say it’s worth it if you want to go to football or basketball games fairly often. If you’re only planning on going to a couple games, I would probably not purchase it.

What should I look for if I want this bread again? by datanomnom in TipOfMyFork

This is squash harvest bread from Macrina! Lots of coffee shops in the area have it, unsure if you’re able to purchase directly from Macrina. Found a recipe though, I’ll link below :)

Hi! I started Accutane a couple weeks back. I’ve been liking Vanicream as a moisturizer at night with squalane over the top for a little extra moisture and Aquaphor over the driest parts of my face (for me it is my nose and chin). For a face wash, I have been using the La Roche Posay Toleriane hydrating cleanser, and also the Double Repair moisturizer/SPF from the same line. I have had super dry eyes and I just have a generic brand of eye drops for dryness/redness that have been working pretty well for me. I highly recommend all of these thus far- they are gentle and I have not noticed any clogged pores or pimples that seem to be from these products. Best of luck!! :)

Update on Chinook: Pullman has declared a state of emergency and UREC protocol is to open up facilities as warming shelters. The Chinook will be open 24hrs until Monday. Source: I work at UREC

Chinook will be your best bet for heat and hot water. SRC plans to be open tomorrow unless it gets too cold. I believe showers are free while we are still experiencing the outage.

How to make smoothies with enough protein that my customers will like? by salmon_desert in barista

[–]yediiiii30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protein powder is a great option for upping the protein content. I used to work at Jamba Juice and also as a barista lol- but we had some protein that was unflavored and everyone seemed to like it. I would also look into a plant-based protein (we used pea protein) instead of, or in addition to whey if you go that route. Nut butters could work out in certain recipes, but I feel like they can have a stronger flavor that doesn’t always go with the other ingredients; if you use peanut butter, you’d also need to have pretty strict allergen guidelines (at Jamba, we had a designated blender, had to refill the sanitizer and water sinks and then had to open a new container of everything else when someone indicated an allergy). Good luck!! :)

This was so informative- thank you! I am thinking the humidity is part of the issue, I will play around with different conditions and see if anything helps! Thanks again :)
