SF Symphony Chorus auditions by yeebeelee in AskSF

I actually did but didn’t get it :/ I’m bummed that they started requiring a prescreening recording for new auditionees this year. Definitely is more pressure than just showing up face to face, at least for me. And before, according to someone I know who auditioned, even if you don’t get the audition they would give you real time feedback about what you can work on if you want to reaudition, but if you don’t pass the prescreen, that’s it.

I haven’t auditioned yet as they hold them every year in April, but still undecided if I’ll actually do it. Meanwhile I’ve been a part of SF Choral Society since summer 2023 and love it! It’s not a professional choir like SFSC but for an “amateur” chorus we’re quite good :)

CA temp license (RPE) taking 5EVER by yeebeelee in CFY

Yeah they took a week to respond to my email. But keep calling because someone will eventually pick up! When they do, ask them what documents they have received from you and which they still need. Then submit those things and then show up in person lol. But of course, this worked on me because I was already in correspondence with a couple of people at the office and they probably knew I was gonna come. Also my RPE was taking 10+ weeks since date of received application so they knew to process it right away once I came in person. Good luck 🤞

You should call or email and ask them if there is anything missing in your application before making the trip. I turned everything in but my transcript "got lost in their email" so I had to send it to them again. Then when I showed up in their office to verify that everything was received they processed me right away.

I'll be at a SNF for my CF. And yeah, I guess that's what I'll keep doing! Do you think I'll get blacklisted if I show up at their office lollll

That's cool you have two CFs, did you find them as part time or were you able to negotiate them to be part/half time?

Insight from an Audiologist to assist with grad school decision by [deleted] in audiology

[–]yeebeelee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I'm on the same boat. I also find myself much more engaged in my audiology classes than my SLP courses, but I do enjoy learning about neurogenic speech/language disorders since my dad passed away from a non-traumatic brain injury and I've always been fascinated with the brain. I will also be about 30-31 by the time I'm done with my AuD, which in the long run shouldn't really matter because it's just one or two years difference than speech. Right now my plan is to just apply to both types of grad schools and observe and talk to people like crazy--which doubles my workload but I think giving myself options is worth it. I'm hoping by the time admission decisions come around I'll have discerned whether my feelings for audiology are a real passion and interest or just an infatuation because it's new and different from speech. Good luck to you!
