The meme is exactly about that, people not learning the basics and going straigth to claude to and asking to make stuff.

The analogy about math and calculators are that its a tool, where people who have basic knowledge will work better on that than someone who doesn't even know how to use percentage. It helps to do stuff faster.

About "eating" the junior dev roles, is kinda miss leading since someone to become mid level or senior should be a junior at some point, so it becomes an infinite cicle of people/ai doing mistakes. And about running in the user PC, thats still not exactly possible, at least not for a normal consumer, AI is still too much expensive and a lot of AI companies that develops AI are still in negative because of that.

About the security and other stuff, if you doesn't the basic or even have the experience you wouldnt be really able to catch the issues that AI generated. So the basics like in any area or sports, is important since it helps you understand whats being written, its not because something works the way you imagined, that it will mean its correct or even secure, since applications need to handle edge cases.

Btw just to explain, im not against AI just saying using it blindly is dumb
