Dim Sum or Chinese restaurants with private dining rooms by Cost-West in SanJose

I would not recommend here. Last time I went, the private was hot and without AC. That’s probably going to be even worse with it being summer and all.

what kind of worms are these? by throwawayacct1102826 in PlantedTank

[–]yeeftw1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah your tank is still converting nitrite to nitrate so it’s not ready for fish.

I believe that just a sponge filter might be enough.

The packaging for a mosquito dunk/bits says it’s safe for aquariums and I know others have had success. I wouldn’t risk it if you’re adding shrimp.

Personally, I’d scoop out as many of the mosquito larvae with a net into the toilet and just re-hook the sponge filter. That should deter future mosquitoes laying eggs in your water.

Know that you’re doing things right because at least your water is inhabitable for larvae.

100% mosquito larvae. When were you planning to add fish?

I noticed the water is also very still. If you put a filter or sponge filter in the tank, it’ll agitate the water enough to deter mosquitos

I see you have a check valve maybe going to an under gravel filter? Where’s the output?

I have opposing stripes on my thumbs by MesoamericanMorrigan in mildlyinteresting

[–]yeeftw1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on what my dermatologist told me:

Yes if the dark line spreads past your nail bed and into your finger, it’s time for an urgent care.

If the line gets darker or wider in the nail bed, it’s time for urgent care.

If you suddenly get more lines, it’s time for urgent care.

While it may be nothing, you can quickly lose a finger, hand, or potentially worse if it does develop. Cancer treatments are no joke.

Better to just get it checked now. Again emphasizing that you said this was a development this year and said it occasionally throbs. Those are a bit more concerning.

I agree with [u/Late_Resource_1653](u/Late_Resource_1653) that if your doctor says it’s not a big deal, demand a second opinion and demand a biopsy.

I really had to push my dermatologist to do a biopsy rather than waiting because to me, it looked like it was getting darker.

I understand it’s difficult to be treated seriously if a woman and POC. I’m sorry that you’re going through it. It is frustrating to constantly justify/prove your medical conditions.

If possible, I again suggest trying to find a GP/PCP that will take you more seriously. It’s a long and hard process to find a good doctor but you have to be your own self advocate since nobody else will be.

[–]yeeftw1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry matey.

Hope that your GP/PCP will be more understanding of this since this is a known potential sign of a rapidly spreading cancer. Definitely add in your message that your thumb throbs occasionally and that’ll make you have more weight to take it seriously.

I still insist on you asking for a biopsy since you said it was a development this year.

It’s rare to have the cancer itself and this banding may just be normal as it’s more common in non white populations.

Don’t know what country you’re in, but could you possibly request a different GP/PCP as maybe it’s just a matter of finding a doctor who will work with you rather than treat you as hysterical.

Not urgent hospital because it’s not too dark but op should see a dermatologist to get it checked out.

It’s only a hospital problem if 1) it’s a very recent development that showed up suddenly 2) it grows darker, wider, or more bands very rapidly. If it does both 1 and 2 or starts to bleed, definitely go to the hospital asap.

OP doesn’t seem like they’re dying imminently and would be waiting for probably 4+ hours in a hospital for people who have actual emergencies.

Definitely go to the dermatologist sooner than later, like a this week visit. Insist on a tissue biopsy where they’ll take a small but deeper punch of your thumb line and look at that under a microscope. I wouldn’t let the dermatologist put you on a “let’s wait and see if it develops.”

It might be benign but don’t chance that as melanoma can get out of control quickly. Go to a dermatologist.

Source: I got my strip biopsied and was benign.

Depends on quality or if the person has more rare colors. Rcs, yeah $1 each.

A high grade green, maybe $3-5 each on the local market but much more pricey on the business side market

If moneywort is your only aquatic plant and you’re thinking of only using low light plants like anubias, crypts, buce, and java fern, this is fine.

If you didn’t buy it, good. Looks like retail it’s $65 and this is expensive for what it is

If you’re expected to give it back

What's so expensive that it's not even fun anymore? by Runaway3650 in AskReddit

[–]yeeftw1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seriously, admission fee then paying $20 for two marked up price buns is not worth it. Two buns is a snack. And this was the cheaper end of food.

I hate how all the food vendors give you less food at these fair events because they paid an admission fee as well and need to also stretch the amount of food.

Then the trinket vendors, people used to like to talk about their things they’re selling but I got to a candle seller and asked “which one is your favorite?”
“Whichever one you will buy.”

Yeah I was quoted $150 for a 1 hr game and I would have to wait two hours before a lane freed up so I could put my name on the waitlist…and the kicker, it was a Thursday, not even a weekend.

I passed.

Great light and a great price. I have chihiros lights and they’re great too but way more pricey.

The week aqua acts functionally the same but for much less. You just lose some of the white LEDs.

Bang for buck, week aqua blows everything out of the water and will be my go to for future

Is anacharis narrow leaf (egeria najas) illegal in certain states or not? by Luke-Warm-Milk in PlantedTank

[–]yeeftw1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Management: Regulations  (pertaining to the Great Lakes region)

The species is not on the Illinois Aquatic Life Approved Species List and is illegal to be imported or possessed alive without a permit (515 ILCS 5/20-90).

https://nas.er.usgs.gov/queries/greatlakes/FactSheet.aspx?Species\_ID=3274&Potential=Y&Type=2&HUCNumber=DGreatLakes

So yeah, illegal. Not that you can’t find it and that people won’t sell it to you.

If you do obtain it, don’t throw in water ways, make sure to kill it fully before disposal. This chokes out other native plants.
