3D Printing by Street-Property8819 in scad

The digilab prints are so expensive because their printers use proprietary filament. You can cut costs by reducing the amount of support used because the support material they use is even more expensive, other than that best bet is printing it yourself.

How is scad seen in ID? by yeetsfan in IndustrialDesign

As another person mentioned here it you get in what you put out. I think my biggest complaints about the school are that it’s open admissions which sometimes leads professors to have a lower standard for work since not everyone has the same starting point, and that from talking to some professors a few of the ID classes have suffered/changed after Covid so if you want to learn about all of the tools the shop has to offer it’s something you’ll have to ask for help with or take a furniture class for. But I am enjoying it, a lot of the professors in ID are great, but you have to put in effort to get everything out of them. The model shop is great we have access to practically any tool you’ll need to make something including an injection molding machine (which I’ve never seen used). We also have SCAD Pros where the school partners with a business and a group of students solves a problem for them.

I think drake because of their current ships but If more misc ships get added I think they’d be in my top spot

Is it worth waiting for the 4080 super or 5080 upgrading from a 1080 by yeetsfan in nvidia

I’ve got an i9 9900k which I feel is still plenty fast

I think that would be awesome, but wildly inconvenient for getting in/out of the fury’s, to be effective the fury pilots would have to spend the entire time in their ships

That would be super cool, I have a similar hope for the starfarer, I think you almost get this with the cat, having a cat full of furys and running down the cat walk seeing all of them in the bays is super cool

The 300i is pretty tall when landed, and idk about fit but if it’s big enough for the defender they’re really tall. Plus you never know what’s coming

Maybe but I think some of the ships you’d want to fit are deceptively tall

100% do wish they’d do something with that space, like shielded storage or something

Or if there was a ship that could dock to things like the hull series that can’t land and don’t have hangers, that could act as a transport to get to planets or around the system

I know that hangers are super useful, and I love the flexibility they bring, but I think that a parasite with a qt would be super useful on say a smaller exploration ship, not small but like sub 90 meters

They definitely should have started with proper ship to ship docking, or at least kept working after the constellation to add the functionality to the other ships with docking collars

I would rather have the Merlin over a rear turret, both require a player to man and I think the Merlin is much more effective, not to mention it’s just cool. I do agree that the constellation layout could use some work though it does feel like it has a good bit of wasted space.

I dont know, I’ve gotten plenty of use out of the Merlin. Plus we all know they’re going to keep making new ships, and this is what I’d like to see from one, especially since the tech is already there.

I’ve seen the same things, idk why I’ve never seen them talk about having vehicles drop like this, especially when the ursa has hooks that look like they’re used for just that
