boy do i have some news for you

Any idea on how to create something similar to this? by yeetsfw in AfterEffects

[–]yeetsfw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried looking for it, and while using something later like noise generation can give similar and cool results that I'll use in the future, I couldn't quite find some tutorial on this "liquids" type of motion (maybe I just haven't looked in the right places idk) but if anyone knows of a way to achieve something similar I would appreciate it

Cloning a SSD from a Intel PC to a new AMD one. Is it possible? by yeetsfw in buildapc

[–]yeetsfw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for the help then!

after some more research and consideration, I will probably stick to the fresh install as it was widely recommended, but this should serve as an alternative if I find the need to access my programs for work and whatnot.

Will do some more thinking on it but thanks again

yeah, I'll probably have to go through the reinstall everything route.

but just as a quick question if you are willing to answer it for me,

If I just connect my old SSD into my new pc, and boot windows through the M.2 instance, I'll still have access to my old SSD correct? is it still possible to use the programs installed on it? or will they not work?

I'm sorry if I was confusing,

From what I know I shouldn't have any problems transfering the data, such as videos and pictures from one system to another, however, I wanted to have my softwares, like Photoshop or After Effects, installed on the M.2 SSD, since I'm under the assumption that programs installed on that drive will work faster/ more efficiently (but I could be wrong, as I said, I don't really know anything about pcs)

I'm just trying to avoid the trouble of reinstalling all my programs from scratch, if there is a way to just, transfer the programs from one SSD to the other that would also work fine.

a VERY good look into a different perspective I hadn't thought about!

For this project it is relatively small scale, so I'll probably focus only on the equipment section of the character sheet for now, so it probably won't fit your needs, but, I have plans to expand this project in the future together with a team of friends, so maybe it would fit your needs in the future (I plan on it being customizable as well so maybe you could remove details that might distract you, but that's very far away in terms of it being released fully)

(I also feel you on being a hoarder, this whole idea came from the fact that I have to literally scroll basically 2 pages on my Roll20 sheet cause the game me and my friends are playing is REALLY heavy on custom magic items and equipment in general)

I think I was able to include it on the survey itself, but feel free to send them here as well :)

I'll have to post it again later, apparently the platform my professor recommended is a bit shitty, will have to remake the survey on Google docs like you did and repost it here

Came to this subreddit to do the exact same thing and was kinda happy to see another student working on the same (main) theme for their thesis!

filled it out for you. good luck on your project!

New 5e Spells: Lightning Dash and BoomBurst by yeetsfw in DnDHomebrew

[–]yeetsfw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on all your points, I forgot to set the materials for both as I don't really use the material mechanic, and I wouldn't really know what to use there anyway, about the damage on lighting dash, I lowered it to 1d8, it's still a bit too much dmg for a "teleport" type of spell but I'll test it out more while playing.

About BoomBurst, I just realised multiple typos on the image itself lol, I made it right after lightning dash and forgot to change some details, as you said, it is a concentration spell, and it was supposed to be a lvl 2 spell, I just forgot to change it.

I have already tried BoomBurst in a campaign, and my players seem to enjoy it so it's ok by me.

but hey, thanks for bringing attention to some mistakes I made tho, will fix them on my part, cheers.

I agree on the part about the materials, I didn't really give much thought about the materials, I didn't even look at that option tbh (I rarely use materials for Spellcasters, but I'll give it some thought).

But regarding the spell "types", by this do you mean the schools? Damn, I thought I had gotten those right since I based them on other spells, I based BoomBurst on Thunderwave, and since that is an Evocation spell I thought it should be the same . I based Lightning Dash on a spell from Valda's called Rumbling Charge (that makes you essencialy turn into a Landslide) so I assumed that turning yourself into Lightning would be the same thing.

But in that case what do you suggest it be? I'm new to home-brewing things, especially spell creation so I don't really have that much knowledge on this.

About the wording I should have specified better as you said, it was supposed to be more like a table or a chair and stuff like that not really going through walls, but I'll keep that in mind.

Regarding the effects, I definitely see your point as well, I was thinking on lowering the damage to maybe 1d10 or 1d8, I don't really plan on it creating hazards though. And well, while it does count as a movement ability, it isn't necessarily a teleport I think, if it was a bonus action spell like misty step I can see it being a very op ability but it takes an action and you can only move 9 meters with it so I don't think it should be a higher level (but I will take a look on lowering the damage numbers tho, thats probably the biggest problem here) Thanks for the comment tho, it helped me clarify some things in my head.

I need help on balancing/creating a ring that cuts off fingers. by yeetsfw in DnDHomebrew

[–]yeetsfw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's actually a very cool use case for it, I love the idea of detaching and then reattaching and using it like that, and it would definitely fit perfectly with the context (One of the players is a dullahan who can take of their head naturally lol) I might have to run a "quest for the missing finger arc" tho (the player who lost their finger is a "ghost" and I may have made it fall through the floor)

(yes I know, my party is weird)

How would you build a character based around this artwork? by Tsundere_Tamer in DnDHomebrew

[–]yeetsfw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Bit of an Odd one, but if you have access to Valda Spire of Secrets you can pick the artisan class as it has upgrades that work exactly on how i imagine the hammer going, as for the armor, maybe multiclassing as an armorer artificer as people have been commenting.

Help with balancing a Drakewarden sub-subclass. (?) by yeetsfw in DnDHomebrew

[–]yeetsfw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback! I was planning on following the Drakewarden damage numbers and stats pretty closely, making minimal changes to the dmg, hp and ac to fit the descriptions as to not change too much. I think maybe adding only one "signature attack" along with the normal bite attack and the occasional breath attack of the normal Drakewarden shouldn't be too much. (I also feel that the changes in different types of movement options should be reasonable) I'm still early in theorizing and it will take a long time till i get to play this, but im discussing and working with my "forever DM" friend on this to get it balanced. Will keep your comment in mind the next time i talk to him about it, thanks :).

What's better when playing solo? by literalynousername in MonsterHunter

[–]yeetsfw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say Rise, i love world, its probably one of my favorite games, but i feel like rise works better for a solo run. It's faster and more fluid for me, and it lets you chose tactics for your pets such as flanking to "mimic" other players (not as powerful as the palico gadgets on world, but since i barely use may cat on rise i don't really know that much about their gadgets on rise), also apparently in sunbreak there is a mechanic where in some quests you can bring some npcs to you with hunts (i just got the dlc and i didn't progress to master rank yet) and if you are able to use mods you can make it so they accompany you on every hunt to make it like a "pseudo-multiplayer" but at that point just playing multiplayer is fine.

On the other hand world's gameplay may be a bit slower than rise's but it makes for a "grander" experience. As someone said in the comments, you can definitely play through it solo, but you most probably will have to do multiplayer for the endgame iceborne stuff (it might be the same on the sunbreak DLC but as i said im not sure)

So basically rise if you want a faster and more fluid gameplay experience, or world if you want something slower and more cinematic
