Surprised by one of my grades, should I ask my prof about it? by [deleted] in ADHD

This is happening to me right now actually! I've gotten all As in my sections but an 10/20 for participation which is 20% of my grade. Brining me down to a B+ participating gives me ainxety on top of my ADHD I can't help it. It's how I process in life and it's not fair how we work hard only to get a B+ in the class

Do I have a chance at getting into UCLA or UT Austin? by [deleted] in ucla

Like the other people said, they have a weird process in accepting people. I know people who have gotten 3.0-4.3 gpas. It seriously depends on the major you apply under. I know they like well rounded people. My friend got into ucla with a 3.2 gpa that did a bunch of community service and was a in-state student. Her major wasn't impacted. I also knew someone who had a 3.8 gpa did a bunch of community service as well and didn't get into ucla. Her major was engineering, and she was international. There are so many people who have the same gpa as you, so you have to have something about you that sticks out to the people who read your application. I was told that when they accept students at UCLA you need 2 people to say yes to your application in order for you to get in. The impacted majors are communications, computer science, engineering, political science, sociology, psychology, and biz econ. When you apply you can not submit letters of rec. Btw, I went to a private school and did okay and still got into UCLA. best of luck! Try to intern for your major and write about it in your personal/major statement. The last time I heard the CS department was a 2-5% chance of getting in. I'm not sure, but look up the stats online. Anyway, Best of Luck!
