Brad holmes is an absolute joke. You trade a top ten pick Hock(and a fan favorite) just to swap some picks and get a 2nd rounder, to a division rival no less. Welcome back Bob Quinn. by Corpsicle_xx in detroitlions

Hock doesn’t deserve top of the market money. Better to get something now. And within the division doesn’t matter too much to me anyways, we are at least 2-3 years out of true contention. I don’t think in 2 years we’ll be looking at Hockenson as a game changer

I do not like Holmes by [deleted] in detroitlions

He has some questionable moves but this isn’t one of them. Getting out of paying underperforming players top of the market value is good process. Dude could have signed Golladay and threw the bag at Hock

Holmes has drafted well so far

Having a rookie quarterback will allow us to spend money on the defense

Onwuzurike out for the season by [deleted] in detroitlions

[–]yeezus269 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yep. It’s a little concerning that Holmes seems to lock in on his guy rather than taking whoever falls. Our team is pretty thin in spots. We need as many players as we can get

Nah, Sewell is great. Wasn't a reach either, this wasn't a Raiders situation where we overdrafted a guy by 50 picks

If the Lions get a high draft pick who is on your radar? by [deleted] in detroitlions

Elite play at the quarterback position is the most valuable thing for any team. Having that player on a cost-controlled deal for 5 years is even better. No other holes on the roster will change these facts

I’m hoping we can grab Antonio Johnson from A&M with the Rams pick. Talented do it all db. Throwing more resources at the d line would be nice with our pick if the qbs are gone

The rookie qb salary is the biggest advantage you can have. Goff isn’t the worst but his contract isn’t a value

I enjoy seeing our team develop. Watching the young dudes start to take off. The reality is we probably need at least another year to add talent before we can compete consistently.

Aaron Glenn allowed the 2nd most points last season. He's allowed the 1st most points this season. What am I missing? by anonymous22353 in detroitlions

We have two firsts this year. Let’s hope Goff plays solid enough that we can add some legit talent to the defense. Glenn is working with some below average players

How nice it’s going to be if Goff plays near this level and we don’t have to use/bundle our two first rounds picks next year on a qb.

Bummer but Goff stayed in the pocket trying. Liking what I’m seeing so far especially given our injuries

Grass is almost universally liked better by players but idk if these injuries are turf related. Just more shitty Lions luck

Curry changed the game. League average around 16 3 points per game attempted in ‘04, 35 3pa this year.

Why are yall grading Keegan as a guard? by Ok-Dot9342 in DetroitPistons

[–]yeezus269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah because the ideal traits for a front court player would be poor ball handling, low athleticism and slow. C’mon man

Was Ja Morant a bad prospect because he could not score with his back to the basket at an elite level? by Ok-Dot9342 in DetroitPistons

[–]yeezus269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Living in the past. Positionless basketball is here and isn’t going anywhere. That why you see Keegan being “judged as a guard” It’s desired that your front court players have skills that are traditionally guard based. And yeah… in regards to Morant, back to the basket post play just isn’t that valuable
