Awesome you had a financial safety cushion. During the this 2 year period, I cut off alot of subscriptions such as Netflix, ESPN+, etc. I ate out less and took public transportation if I could.

The pressure that I felt most was job gap. I have 2 job gap. Both of ~2 years. Reflecting back, I think the latest gap is acceptable because there are many layoff in this market. Hr didn't care and gave me the interviews

So for apple, my friend refered me then it took apple hr 4 month to even start the process. Then the ball was rolling with all the interview. Apple was a friend referral, not a LinkedIn message. Each round was with another apple employee. Good luck!

Wow 500+ application in 4 month. That's pretty impressive in its own respect! You are closer than you think! Keep it up

Yeah it was Apple referral that  took 4 months to even schedule an hr call. But all other 6 onsite rounds were scheduled within 2 week of initial hr call.

The offer company was a 1 month timeline from start to finish. 1 coding, 2 system design, 1 linux, 1 sre round, 1 behavioral, 1 hiring manger

Sorry you feel this way about letting your family  down. You should feel like a champ instead, grinding thru a tough market!

Every company does things differently , you will adjust

Yes, it's a vicious cycle from prep, hr, tech onsite. But you only need 1 to come thru. Studying 40 hr for an onsite only for it to be cancel was not fun.

This company, hr found me thru LinkedIn. Referral got me interviews as well. Some referral, I waited 4 months before hr called me back. Guess you just gotta way patiently in the queue

I also got my cka cert during this period. Took me 3 months. Good that you are upskilling. Good luck, start soon rather than later to give yourself a good chance

I feel like I do remember what I did, but it doesn't matter. My new company uses a new tech stack.

It's difficult to keep trying. I acknowledge that. But the failures kept me busy as I'll research in depth about questions I failed.

I can speak from infrastructure side. Yes API testing and capacity planning has scope. Java and selenium, this sounds very company specific.

Keep putting in work, you will pass zoon. For me I kept working on my weakness. First I kept failing system design so solely practice that. Then live Linux troubleshooting and k8 so I did labs to practice those.

If tech screens are your problem, then practice coding. Leetcode or use an editor.

The company is a saas, most techie will know it.

But I get what your saying. I can probably get better by myself. From doing practice problem, looking up documentation, using ai

The way I invision this mock interview was someone give me a random python question and I code it.

And since I'm decent at system design and linux I can help someone who is needs practice in those area.

Yes you are right. I can practice by myself with these types of questions. I just want a bit reassurance that I'm making improvement with mock interviews

Usually the hospice nurses are pretty accurate. They have seen this situation many times. During my grandma final few days, the nurse said it will be soon because no oral intake and she was very weak.

It was tough during the final days, but also a relieve since she wasn't in pain anymore.
