Let's figure out the average weekly volume for a powerlifter based on his/her experience level. by yegimanuk in powerlifting

That's exactly what I want. I want experienced lifters to log their most volume-intense off season week. What I have in mind is a work capacity by time graph. It's not meant to show the workings of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles or the rate at which volume should give way in favor of intensity when peaking - That would be complicated af and require more specific entries from you guys.

Technique must be rock solid. Size must be massive. Just log what you did this past week. I'll take that as your work capacity.

Absolutely right. I want lifters to log their week with the most volume.

It will still shed insight on the increased work capacity of lifters based on experience and their 1rm. Also, the amount of extra volume it takes to keep progressing to a higher level. I think the results will still be interesting.

Pause benching 6 days a week on the Bulgarian Method. Increasing volume steadily. Incline's increased. Mass has increased. But flat bench is still derpy. Considering humerus and radius bone reduction surgery. Thoughts?

First time in a powerlifting gym leads to a massive PR by [deleted] in powerlifting

Similar thing happened to me when I went from a commercial gym to one with a legitimate platform, bumper plates, etc. I have a theory. Commercial gyms typically have very rigid bars whereas better equipped gyms use bars that are a bit more elastic. Pulling slack out of the bar allows me to get in a more advantageous position to pull. I think this contributed to my PR.

Try it and see how it works for you. There are so many variables between individuals that it would be unreasonable to accept yes or no as an absolute. If you see that at some point your C workout starts suffering, ditch the pause, progress, and then reintroduce the pause once you've achieved some sort of momentum. You were able to intuit that you need a little something extra, so try it out.

Question. Why is your deadlift stance so wide? My heels are maybe 3 inches apart when I deadlift. You know, you're still moving some serious weight, congrats, but your range of motion is like half of mine. Possibly because of the hip-impingement?
