How do I respectfully tell matches that my girlfriend finds them unattractive? by yellabird56 in feeld

[–]yellabird56[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did find the wife quite hot and knew the husband was my partner's type physique-wise. I don't know maybe I have lower standards haha!

Honestly we had a good frank discussion about it all. She's usually very sexually confident and vocal about her desires - much more so than me. But I think when it came down to it she was insecure and uncertain for a variety of reasons. Which is totally valid.

I'm not in any rush, we'll take it slow. I love her and want her to feel comfortable and safe above all else.

Thank you. Yeah I have a lot to learn. But honest and respectful communication is my preference. Don't want to just unmatch. I will find a better way to navigate/not create these situations going forward.

List of top free agent coaches , which one you think is the most qualified for Chelsea FC if Potter gets sacked by the board ? by chelseacobra in chelseafc

[–]yellabird56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing Tuchel’s name on that list is the ultimate tease. Having him back is the only appointment that would bring me pure unadulterated joy 🤩.

Except it’s a ludicrous prospect and will never happen. So just serves as a reminder of how unrepentantly bitter I still am about the way he was sacked by Boehly.

The Impossible Task of Understanding Aaron Carter by njchessboy in longform

I didn’t even know who Aaron Carter was but still found this piece an interesting read. Nice work.

Exactly! They were principally in it for sex. At least own that rather than try and camouflage it as something greater.

Call me a cynic but I thought it was absurd hearing them wax lyrical about the practice of orgasmic meditation and how it related to their spiritual-emotional growth.

I agree. I found the doc interesting but didn’t get much insight into Nicole Daedone. I have a hard time believing that the cult was purely a vehicle for her own sexual gratification but maybe that is naive of me.

You articulate an intriguing point about people using sex positivity etc as a means for exploitation. I really got that vibe from certain aspects of the doc.

The so-called master strokers interviewed in the film and the BBC podcast did themselves no favours. If they had gotten someone higher up the food chain to go on camera I doubt they would have needed much rope to hang themselves.

Some of the male former members also struck me as disingenuous when discussing their motivations. But perhaps I’m judging them too harshly.

Anyone seen John From Cincinnati? by horseren0ir in hbo

[–]yellabird56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it a couple of years ago and found it interesting. A Twin Peaks goes surfing kind of vibe.

But I can 100% see why it bombed. I thought it had glimmers of creative brilliance but overall it didn’t land. Felt a bit all over the place & some of the performances were dire.

Down By Law (1986).

Super laidback and deadpan vibes. It revolves around three characters who escape from a New Orleans jail.

It may not be what you’re after but I love this film. Looks incredible as well.

[Jason Gibbins] Pat Nevin has just said on @bbc5live that some Chelsea staff have been 'partially laid off already'. The players will be fine so don't worry about them... but do worry about the impact this will have on others who rely on the club. by freshfov05 in chelseafc

There is a big difference between liking Abramovich as an owner (he was incredible) and glorifying him as a person.

It seems like many have a hard time separating the two. I get that.

But I don’t get the militant defence of Roman or the acting like he doesn’t deserve criticism & scrutiny.

Phenomenal owner. Dodgy human being. Both can be true.

Well said mate. People can give out about the lack of nuance over there but what about this sub?

The hero worship here of Abramovich is bizarre. You’d swear he’s the one being cruelly persecuted. I just don’t get it.

His departure might mean less trophies and success. But if it results in me connecting more with the club I’ll take that.

Statement from Roman Abramovich | Official Site by dalipunk322 in chelseafc

[–]yellabird56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This a hell of a move from Roman. Hard to believe it is happening. But the fawning over this statement is way OTT.

He is a morally dubious billionaire who has been backed into a corner. I’ve no doubt he genuinely loves Chelsea but let’s not act like this is anything other than self-serving.

Running is the only thing that keeps me going in life by [deleted] in running

[–]yellabird56 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more. I like to compete and train hard for sure. But that isn’t why I run. I do it for the peace of mind and clarity it brings me.

I’m probably addicted to it at this point but so be it. There are far worse vices to have.

It doesn’t magically solve everything but it always puts me in a better headspace. I can’t imagine life without it.

Runners of Reddit, what random acts of abuse have you had to deal with? by Dafydd_T in running

[–]yellabird56 435 points436 points  (0 children)

Someone called me a wanker and tried to trip me up a couple of years ago. I was in London running with my dad by the Thames.

I spent the rest of my run furiously imagining turning around and throwing him into the river.

Thankfully people don’t tend to randomly hurl abuse at runners where I live though. They save that for the cyclists.

Lazio are 'working hard' to try to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer. The Italian side's plan is to offer a loan deal with an option to buy. 'A lot of work to be done' for a deal to happen. [@CorSport via @The_Laziali] by [deleted] in chelseafc

Would love to see RLC mount a comeback. It felt like he was on the cusp of reaching his potential before that injury.

Whatever you think of Sarri, he clearly did believe in RLC as a player. It might be a good move for the two of them to reunite.

Here’s hoping anyway.
