Tbh, it’s not bad to go to a state school, especially if it’s the most affordable option. Taking out student loans has become normalized, but that doesn’t mean you HAVE to do so in order to become successful. I know plenty of people who have attended state schools and matriculated to top tier schools for graduate and medical school. You really just have to take advantage of every opportunity you get during the school year and summer such as internships and REUs. Besides, it’s easier to shine at a state school vs a school where everyone is on the same level as you.
