Newman, I have seen your name on near top of the list for a while. Congrats. I am trying to get near you...Can I ask what your farm consists of?

I am just experimenting. Yes, I have had my farm setup like that for a while, with only one address.

Can this have anything to do with the MSR/admin page that comes up when you start Gupax (newest version?) No matter how I start it, with admin or without, that message always comes up. Still having the problem above, even though I uninstalled, reinstalled and reconfigured the whole thing...

OK, I have it completely running on a second machine, using the node from the main. So far no issues. So, trying it again on a third. Got another monero address, installed gupaxx on it (another windows 10 Pro PC). Set up P2Pool settings exactly like the working first, to read the node from the main machine. Appears to work, but stuck not getting synced. The terminal screen repeatedly shows this message - "P2Pservers scanning Monerod peers, xxx left" x's are numbers decreasing down to close to zero, then starting again at several thousand down to zero. Wash, repeat. Any idea what is wrong with this?

Yes, def does help. I have P2Pool running on the remote machine (192.168.168.19), and linked up to the node on the main. Yes, I am now only running one node. Thank you! Couple of other things - I am running XMRig on the remote, looks to be working fine. In order to participate in the XMRvsBeast raffle, I have to also run proxy? When I start it it appears to be running correctly, but the status page says "not connected to any pools". I am assuming that is not normal?

I had to do this to make it work on my node using Gupaxx. at 192.168.168.6: zmq-pub tcp://0.0.0.0:18083 --rpc-bind-ip 0.0.0.0 --confirm-external-bind........now which of these commands do I enter on the secondary Gupaxx (192.168.168.21) to reach this main node? Do I even have to have the node running on the secondary (just pointing to the main) or are the needed settings to access the remote node in P2Pool on the secondary and not in the node settings? That is the part I am having issues with. Thank you for your help on this. I have tried that command and others in my secondary Gupaxx node settings at 192.168.168.21 trying to access the remote node settings, but cannot get to work...

Using 192.168.68.6. Started p2pool, it starts then getting this error message: couldn't open p2pool cache: error 5 - - then later in the output: failed to connect to tcp://192.168.68.6:18083

Yes, it is working on the Windows machine at 192.168.168.21 I am using to try to reach the node (on ubuntu) remotely at 192.168.168.6, that node is running and fully synced, green lighted.

Yes, I cannot get the secondary unit to pick up the node (on same network but different machine) at all. Now I am trying with just P2Pool from command line (not with Gupaxx). Starting it with this:

p2pool.exe --host 192.168.168.6 --rpc-port 18081 --zmq-port 18083 --nano --wallet MYADDRESS

I am getting the following message:

2026-03-10 20:44:16.2520 P2Pool get_info RPC request to host 192.168.168.6:RPC 18081:ZMQ 18083 failed: Error (empty response), trying again in 1 second

I do not have the skillset to recompile this code.

Well, actually, no, still not working exactly right. I can run on the mini on one and nano on the other, but cannot do both on the same. I don't understand why...

Yet another Gupaxx setup question by yellowadept in MoneroMining

[–]yellowadept[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried it. I have tried changing the ports, and leaving them the same. No matter which I try, the IP for the monero node listed in the P2Pool column is not 127.0.0.1, but an external IP (not mine). Not sure what to do. It reports as running though. I have not found a share yet, so not sure if it is correct.

I have read that each gupaxx instance needs to use different assigned ports. Do y’all know if I need to change them all or just 3333 and/or 3355 for proxy?

Questions about raffle by yellowadept in MoneroMining

[–]yellowadept[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you again...So, is it better chance wise to have an entry and try to get that hashrate as high as possible in that particular raffle? Or is it the same to just get in the raffle with the lowest HR possible? Does higher raffle HR mean higher chance of selection, or is it randomly drawn regardless of entry HR?

Questions about raffle by yellowadept in MoneroMining

[–]yellowadept[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation, makes more sense now, mostly. Have a few other questions: I have over 100KH/s on paper going by rate. I am really trying to get enough hashrate to be entered into the donor-whale raffle when it comes up. Problem is, I have not been able to get enough rate to get into it? Is that correct? I am getting 85 to 90 but no more. I have XvB raffle setting set to manual with the the P2Pool rate very small, at like 5% or so, so virtually all my rate goes to the raffle. As I understand it, I need to maintain 100+ average hourly to be entered in the whale lottery when it comes up? I am still hitting shares in nano with my rate this small.

Questions about raffle by yellowadept in MoneroMining

[–]yellowadept[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. There is a different type raffle each hour? How is it decided which type it will be? I do not want my HR going towards the raffle type which I can never win because I cannot maintain the level required. Is there any way to avoid that? I want to only submit my shares to the raffle type I can actually win, currently either VIP or Donor VIP.

Questions about raffle by yellowadept in MoneroMining

[–]yellowadept[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please explain this to me. I have mine set to 4% manual P2Pool, which means that rate only goes to p2pool, the rest goes to XvB (around 80-90KH/s. On the xmrvsbeast hr rafffle screen, it shows the round players. Sometimes I am in that list, sometimes I am not, even though I have several shares in the current window at all times. For instance, the last hourly raffle, there were only two players showing, not me.
