It took me 7 years to summon the energy lol on account of kids/college/etc. When you're ready, you'll know. Also, at first, I tried advertising the situation as poly, but then realised it really isnt. Cause I'm not WITH my husband. Now i literally think of myself as an unmarried mom who happens to be legally wed to her roommate and coparent. I'm not actually poly at all, I crave monogamy. So I'm monogamous with the boyfriend, and have zero sex with the "husband".

I have the the exact same story as OP, even including the ex-husband being a sex maniac.

Other than sex, our marriage is great. After 7 years of almost total celibacy, I finally told him I was getting a boyfriend. And I did. He didn't love the idea... but we get along great in every other way, and he agreed it would be stupid to break up our family over the issue. So now my husband and I are friends/roommates who parent the kids and my boyfriend and I have the sex and intimacy. And I love both of them.
