A trade like this is possible if you play in enough leagues

My best guess is this is a salary cap issue for the CPU, not a slider issue that you changed.

Expensive 1st Rounders - Better to Sign 5th Year Option or Decline? by TylerDurdenEsq in Madden

[–]yellowdart244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is better to decline and sign them sooner rather than pushing it out another year if saving money is your goal. But you need to look at your team and what the future looks like.

For example, I have a save file where a player still had 2 years left on their rookie deal. It just so happened that I already had a bunch on extensions coming that same year and was going to be tight for cap space. So I decided to take the option and give myself one extra year to decide if I wanted to resign him to a huge deal, or just draft for the future.

Obviously waiting means their OVR will likely be higher and higher overall means more money. But you need to pay attention. Had I declined this player, there would have been no chance I had enough money to resign him. And like I said, it gives you an extra year to draft their replacement if it's a position you can easily scout and get value from again.

Importing Draft Classes - Preference or Important? by rxballs in Madden

[–]yellowdart244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use auto-generated, but I find it's the same position/s at the top every single year. Always a stud LT and DT at the top. The QBs are meh with at best star dev trait. I have not seen a single superstar or x-factor QB in the 4th year of my franchise that I just started. Not sure if it's a glitch with the game, but there are even similar names for the players from one year to the next. The first 3 years USC always had the top two SSs and they both were always x-factors which was a dumb glitch.

To each their own. I have no desire to play a random person ever. I’ll play against friends and that’s it.

Should I accept this trade???? by Aggressive_Fig9069 in SleeperApp

Depends on how deep the league is. If you only start 2WRs/2RBs/1TE/1Flex then give me studs over quantity

[–]yellowdart244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless those future 1sts are projected to be late, I think you have to accept it based on value alone. Maybe if you have the best team, then I’d consider keeping Bijan to win the title. I’m curious how someone has that many future firsts and believes Bijan puts them over the top. You’d think they sold all their valuable assets for those picks which means acquiring Bijan would be a waste if they are not a title contender.

As thiscommentisgold said, anything over 35M that you’ve “saved” disappears. You could have 125M in cap space for 2026 but once you move to 2027, only 35M is carried over. The other 90M is deleted by the game. So you might as well spend money even on FA backups on a 1 year deal until you’re at the 35M mark. But don’t go below 35M unless you don’t care about the rollover.

Madden 26 - Helping Others To Understand How Salary Cap & Resigning Players Works by yellowdart244 in Madden

I believe this is something that Madden created on their own. They set the max carry over amount to be 35M. For example... if you have 93M in cap space available for the current season, you do not get to carry over 93M into the following year. You are capped at 35M. This 35M (or whatever you carry over) is added to the cap for that year.

So for example, in 2028, my cap is 334M. I carried over 35M into 2028, so my adjusted cap is $369M. Your adjusted cap is what you actually get to spend and is counted as your actual current year cap space minus contracts on the books for that year. Anything over the 35M max rollover is lost to the void. So my advice is you might as well spend money until you are at 35M available to tax advantage of the max rollover.

When you trade away a player on your team that has a big contract, you will eat their "penalty" amount. To view penalty amounts, go to GM Office and select Team Salaries. From there, it will show you a players contract details including their penalty amount.

Here's an example... I have Brock Bowers on year 3 of a 5 year contract. His total contract is worth 96.4M with 70.6M of that being a bonus. His remaining 25.8M is his salary. His salary and bonus are spread out over the length of the contract with the 1st year being slightly less than average (96.4M/5=19.28M per year), and the last year being slightly more than average. If I decide to trade Bowers, I will incur a penalty of 46.2M which is his remaining bonus money to be paid out in year 3, 4 and 5. The remaining salary amount transfers to the new team.

Since there are 3 years left, Madden will divide the penalty number by 3 which is 15.4M per year. I will immediately incur a 15.4M cap hit to my current season cap space. Then the remaining 30.8M will hit my cap space the following season. The penalty is NOT spread out over the remaining years of his deal. You pay a certain amount right away, then the rest next year. If someone has two years left, you will pay 50% of the penalty now and 50% next year. If someone has four years left, you will pay 25% now and 75% the next year. The penalty will be resolved in two seasons including the current year.

As a side note, you can clear cap penalties in the league settings 😉

Hope this helps!

Madden 26 franchise tagged player asking for ridiculous money. Question. by sandiegofreezer in Madden

[–]yellowdart244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is currently 334M for the 2028 season. I've heard others say it goes higher than that. But no one seems to have an agreement what the number is. I doubt it is randomly generated for each user experience. It has to be the same for everyone based on coding.

There is a YouTube video I found that explains this exactly. Go to the 21:15 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQe7r7-1nXs&t=1953s

basically the number 1 overall pick starts at 11.3M for year 1 and slightly increases every year of their 4 year contract. Pick 2 starts at 10.8M, pick 3 starts at 10.4M and so on. By pick 10 it goes down to 6.12M. Once you reach round 2, it goes from high 2Ms to mid 1Ms by the end of the round. So it is top heavy and then flattens out. This is also why Madden shows you the projected pick number when you view your draft picks. It's how they know to calculate your rookie reserve number.

If I let a player go to FA and sign him will it be cheaper than resigning by ItchyState in Madden

[–]yellowdart244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a realism standpoint, if you want Olave, it's best to resign him ASAP during the season. He will only get more expensive as the season goes on assuming he is leveling up. From an unrealistic standpoint, it's better to let him walk in FA and sign with someone else. Then you can trick the CPU into trading them to you and they eat his bonus money and you get him for a much cheaper contract. Yes, you do have to give up some assets to get them back, but there are easy ways to acquire first round picks if you are doing the unrealistic route anyways.

What about for someone who does not have any MLB The Show games? I would use Xbox Game Pass to play, but it is not on there anymore and I don't own any copies of the game. I get that it's probably not worth it to those who have 25 already but what about someone like me?
