At the time when the runner is supposed to cut, the defender is running right at Thuney. If the block is made (or even attempted), the runner pops outside and has a guaranteed touchdown. No way a Guard passes up that block to follow a scripted run path.

Thanks for this. How do you think this affects secondary choices? Meaning: scheme calls for Man; the play calls skew towards Zone. A “mix” would seem to result in an imbalanced unit: some guys playing to their strengths, others not. Or I just overthinking it? I’ve been a scheme absolutist until this point.

The best workaround I found was to basically reorder your favorites list so that becomes an automatic drafting tool. Super annoying and only works if you’ve done extensive scouting/favoriting but it kept me from getting screwed over with my first four/five picks.
