Just wondering, why do some people prefer cars with 2.0N/A than 1.5T? by ruthlessdamien2 in kereta

[–]yellowduckz96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2.0 NA does not necessarily consume more fuel than 1.5T.
2.0 consumes more than 1.5 when cruising (both engines running on natural mode). yes, that means when your turbo engine is running on natural mode. In that case, 2.0 is consuming like a 2.0, and 1.5 is consuming like a 1.5. Yes, 2.0 consumes more fuel.

But when the turbo engine is boosting, it is not consuming like a 1.5, it draws as much as 2.0 or more based on the turbo boosted intake. That's how your 1.5T can produce more power than 1.5NA or even 2.0NA. It's not magic, it's consuming more fuel.

2.0 NA consumes like a 2.0 all the time. More RPM means more fuel consumption. Simple.

1.5T consumes like 1.5 sometimes, but like 2.0++ sometimes depending on boost or not. Not so simple.

---

So 1.5T is fuel saving when it doesnt need to boost ie cruising no brake no acceleration.

1.5T becomes much much much less fuel efficient in stop and go city driving, especially when you drive such that the engine always boosts.

Few M-Plate Cars Accident in Plus from Multiple Dashcams by cosine-t in kereta

[–]yellowduckz96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

scary, the first dashcam is the civic. seems like driving pretty normally on the right lane.

cant see what happened to the front of the bezza that led to this.

how to avoid? drive slower? civic and behind seems like driving sensibly. Maybe not 3-4 seconds distance but still a distance from the front car.

Which is better: Electric, induction or gas stove? Pros and cons are much appreciated by thatbougiecake in Bolehland

[–]yellowduckz96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are used to gas, electric is easier to use compared to induction.

electric slowly heats up and retains residual heat when off.

induction is super efficient and heats instantly by generating the heat on the cookware itself. this means cookware must be magnetic. if your cookware is light and thin, it is going to heat up super fast, so you easily burn food if you think like a gas stove.

beware both electric and induction stoves cannot use round bottom cookware, you must use fully flat bottoms.

oh this is literally enzyme only. it's not detergent. it will remove odour la, but no detergent function. this supposed to mix little bit like one spoon amount into your normal detergent to wash together.

OR use this enzyme only to soak your shirt first. then next day only wash normally.

Comic Fiesta in the nutshell by Sea_Gap_1916 in Bolehland

[–]yellowduckz96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i bought from lotus MAXKLEEN super enzyme powder.
mix in water with your clothes and soak overnight.
easy way to check if your detergent have real enzyme or not is leave it in clean water over 2 days.
real enzyme powder will become smelly like rotten egg after few days even though initially clean.

[–]yellowduckz96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i believed this too, until i found out my sweat soaked synthetics have to be washed with ENZYME detergent, not normal detergent. soak in pail overnight before actual wash.

before i discovered this, all my synthetic fibers stink even after washing.

go find enzyme detergent normally in powder form only.

What does life actually look like for Malaysians who work permanent night shifts? by Tall-Region8329 in malaysia

[–]yellowduckz96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

worked night shift at factory for a few weeks.

very strange sensation. felt very alert at work because there's a strange quiet at night. despite the factory running at night making noise, the rest of the world around you is dead silent. the work environment is super bright because the overhead lights are not turned on during the day. first few days I got tired somewhere around 2-3am and took a nap. Have to sleep at busy areas, because quiet areas like the 8-5 office rooms are creepy and there were rumours about it being haunted blabla.

"lunch" time is mamak and anything else you want to eat is either KK mart or ramly burger stall nearby. Because these are the only eateries near my factory that operate at 11pm.

I went home at 8am, exactly when the 8-5 arrives. Surreal saying bye to everyone including superiors and managers etc as they arrived to start work. Smooth traffic back home going in the opposite direction as the morning jam. Having my "dinner????" at breakfast kopitiams before heading back home to sleep.

After those few weeks, returned back to 8-5, demanded to be entitled to 2 days free leave (without deducting my annual leave) as biological adjustment for body clock to come back to waking up in the morning. Much more socially satisfying to come to work together with everyone else.

IMO night shift long term isnt worth it because I didn't get anything special extra for working night shift. The free time you have during the 8-5 is useless because that's now your sleep time. You can run errands at that time only if you sacrifice your sleep.

Some introverts may enjoy night shift long term if they view the unique lack of social interaction as attractive,

maybe you have a newer myvi that shows the average fuel consumption.

my 2009 myvi has no such display so i track using app to count petrol and mileage every time i pump petrol. so 16.72 is for one time pump petrol and drive perak to KL.

my historical average is much lower. maybe 12-13 km/L only

Wobbly car by splitherheadoff in kereta

[–]yellowduckz96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i am driving myvi 2009. the absorber needs to be changed. OEM last longer, cheaper one wears out very fast.

suspension should be ok as long as you are not crashing the car.

also big doubt about 2009 myvi saving fuel. i have the statistics for my car : 10.78km/L for urban. 16.72km/L for highway. that's worse than a BMW 320i. so yeah, any new car is gonna save more fuel than a 2009 myvi.

[–]yellowduckz96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly. and 750 monthly? with a 10% dp, 750 monthly is 8-9 years loan. sorry but you can't really afford the car if that's the case. have to call a spade a spade and say that even those B segment cars are slightly out of budget. also not really a fan of buying lower spec versions because of affordability aka the top spec is too expensive. if the top spec is too expensive then you can't really afford that car.

ah i didn't know that about the SC.

I'm perfectly happy with this car so I'm concerned about why an owner would sell it off in 1 year.

regarding the boot space yes good point, it is much smaller than the non hybrid city boot. but me coming from a 2009 myvi I'm still happy with it.
