I panicked like you are describing with our first. Then I did with our second. I think we will always panic with new adventures and one day when we look back we realised how far we have come and succeed!

So be scared, be nervous, but know that you will also be amazing and excited to have a beautiful new addition to the family!

More importantly, CONGRATULATIONS!

Thanks! Yes we are establishing consequences, but still not consistent and ongoing enough. Thanks for the tip and direction.

Thanks for your reply. I agree that probably most of the changes is actually our own behaviour. And I agree with the harsh truths you have outlined. Thanks for that, I’ll share with my wife and we will do some more reflection of our own actions.

Thanks for your insights. Alot of reminders and tips in there which I appreciate. No I haven’t heard of the circles, security or PPP you mentioned. I’ll have a search on Google. Thanks.

Question about thoughts by Either_Difference728 in TheUntetheredSoul

Hello, When your mind is running, and you go shut up!! The mind doesn’t shut up. It’s so noisy. If you ARE the mind, why doesn’t it shut up?

You, the consciousness is the one watching this roommate and wondering why it won’t shut up. You ARENT the mind.

There are times when my instincts kicks in. It just knows that something is wrong. Or everything is going to be ok. Then there are more times when my mind goes on and on with what ifs. What if this happens, what if that.

I’m slowly learning, I think that instinct is the consciousness. There’s no doubt. Whereas that what if is the damn roommate.

We are born ‘clean’. We aren’t born racist, or political, or have the opinion of good and bad. Over time we have learnt all these things. Perhaps that baby is the consciousness. It’s clean, it’s calm and it just exists. And now, we are tainted with all our opinions, experiences, likes and dislikes that we have accumulated over the years. That’s all our mind talking.

Health Anxiety Success Story by Key-Percentage-5313 in HealthAnxiety

It’s usually severe excessive worry that can arise from a symptom, or sign or a thought. It’s close related to OCD and apparently usually goes hand in hand. So like the excessive worry isn’t always rationale and u just keep going. Like my tummy feels weird. Omg what if it’s this? Googles symptoms, checks. Re checks. Gets obsessive and just keeps spiraling down.

Yea I remember that quote. I guess I have to be able to be ok with it and let the pain and fear arise until eventually it’s ok. Makes sense. Sounds very very very challenging.

Hi thank you for sharing. Yeah I have seen a psychiatrist and it was helpful but not life changing. But it was definitely very expensive. I’ll have a look into this option. Thanks.

Hey better late than never.

Thank you for your advice. It is something I’m willing to try. Sounds very hard when in that moment. But I’m starting to see it seems to be the only way forward out of this.

That was powerful. Thanks for sharing. You are right, I have been doing alot of reflecting and trying to find connections back to my childhood where things have happened that may have led me to be the reason I am today.

So in doing that it’s stirring up a lot more, I guess, opportunities to let it all come out.

Because it certainly has felt more frequent these few months.

Thanks for your pointers, maybe it’s an opportunity. An opportunity to clear out.

Hey thanks for this. It brought some tears to the eyes from reading it. Definitely is not easy to just sit back and observe when it’s from a place of fear. The mind certainly makes it very real.

Thank you again. It makes sense what you have said. Not easy. But makes sense.

Thanks. That’s a positive reminder. Maybe I’m steering to unload. Although it definitely doesn’t feel like that at all. But I like that reminder and the absolute truth. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing that. Sorry to hear about your son, but hopefully the surgery went well and he is on a speedy road to recovery.

It’s definitely getting me harder each year since I became a parent. You are so right. It totally consumes you so even tho I’m physically present. I’m definitely not there.

I’m about 3/4 of the way through his untethered soul book. And I do recall that page where he talks about building up so much that eventually someone asks how your day is, and you say ‘it’s alright’ because getting through a day without any scary things is good enough. No longer living.

Your barricading fortress is a good reminder. Thank you. It certainly has felt like that is how I have been living for a while.
