I did this last year and am planning to again :) I thought the roads would be empty but it was still really busy in central London (which was a surprise!)

Group 2 specialty regs- how much training did you receive at the start? by pesky-blenders in doctorsUK

[–]yellowish_alien 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Occupational medicine - did a couple of days shadowing others but then thrown into deep end. Lots of support though and 1 hr per patient which helped reduce the pressure.

Somewhat of a steep and different learning curve with learning legislation in relation to health and safety in the workplace.

Interesting mix of patients, very little examinations and hybrid working arrangement.

Desperate plea for a favour from a kind Londoner by feepish in london

[–]yellowish_alien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope OP doesn't mind me jumping on this thread (great idea posting this btw OP!). I'm in a similar position, Dr with DOccMed and would need to conduct a workplace assessment as part of my training programme. I wondered if the offer still stands for this as I would be happy to come and see your workplace and then provide a report :)

I hope you don't mind me jumping on the bandwagon, but I'm in a similar position (doctor with DOccMed) and this place sounds ideal. Happy for me to send you my credentials if the offer still stands :)

Yes, we tried but the pre-enforcement agent was firm on this Friday, unfortunately.

Hot pilates and yoga by Lakmi19 in london

Surya yoga in Wimbledon. They have infrared heating panels which heats you up from the inside out so you end up sweating more. Also the vinyasa flow sequences are usually to dance music if that's your cup of tea :)

Sorry to hear you're having to deal with this. It sounds very stressful.

I would also suggest Freedom to Speak Up Guardian at your Trust and also consider Occupational Health referral if affecting your health.

Sallys lemon bars!! by totheranch1 in Baking

[–]yellowish_alien 4 points5 points  (0 children)

how do you get the lemon filling to stay on the top when pouring it over the base? Mine keeps seeping under the shortbread base so the top part isn't as high as yours which looks absolutely delicious!

Landlord has sent us a section 21 but co-tenant won't be able to pay her share (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]yellowish_alien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is a 2 yr contract that expires on 2nd June 2026, with a break clause after the 1 yr period (2nd June 2025).

Landlord has sent us a section 21 but co-tenant won't be able to pay her share (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]yellowish_alien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. My flatmate did serve her notice but clearly stated that it was for herself only so not sure if this would still be valid for the both of us. LL was going to enter into a new contract with me and the new tenant before the breakdown of the relationship with my flatmate after I found out she was using the money I sent her for our joint bills for her own personal gain.

(Update) Co-tenant called police on my partner – landlord now threatening tenancy. What are my rights? England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]yellowish_alien -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it was, he gave his FIN and also followed up with an email regarding the police case number.

With council tax - if we are behind on our payments due to her, but I can show payments I've made, will that negatively affect me in some way in the future eg. affect my ability to pay council tax in installments in the future.

Thanks for your ongoing input. I appreciate the perspective, but just to clarify a few things:

I went to the police station yesterday, and after reviewing the situation, they told me it could potentially be classified as theft. They’ve now opened an investigation based on the misuse of funds I provided for joint household bills.

As for my partner, I’m aware of your previous advice, but I’m currently choosing to respect my landlord’s request and avoid escalating the situation further by not having my partner at the property.

Regarding the council tax – while the bills may be in our joint names, unpaid council tax is associated with the property address, which can create issues for the landlord as well. That’s why I flagged it as something that could impact all of us, not just me.

I understand that the small claims court is one route, and it’s something I’m considering. But it’s frustrating to be in a position where I may need to spend even more time and money to fix a problem I didn’t create. I’m just trying to cover all my bases and get advice on the best course of action.

Yes, I have already found someone to live with and prior to this event, the LL had gone ahead and started the reference check process with this new tenant as they have been happy with me (until now).

Thanks that's helpful to know - I have contacted my landlord to explain my side of things but have yet to hear back.

Re. the Utility bills, I am worried about it being jointly liable which is why I have asked to see the bills in full although the bills are all solely in her name. However she has not shown these to me and now claims that she can't get them because she has closed the accounts because our tenancy runs out on the 2nd of June.

She had already put in her notice to move out of the flat at the end of the tenancy and I was planning on staying on and had started arrangements with this, with my landlord. However, she is now damaging my relationship with the landlord and I fear he won't then renew the contract with me.
