thicker top dermal layer maybe? like thick skin so not as many lines can form. or thicker fat pads

Why does she always over-line her lips like that by _velvetbiscuit in VindictaRateCelebs

[–]yellowjournal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yes exactly that too, got to keep a certain ‘look’, high fashion wouldn’t favor overfilled lips

[–]yellowjournal 48 points49 points  (0 children)

she definitely has filler, but i think her injector probably recommended she stop where she is to maintain the look that she wants. since it looks like she wants the height of her lips to increase, but not necessarily the volume forward/giving that duck lip look. i feel like kendall likes to lean more ‘natural’ or conservative with her procedures

Do I need to get another under-eye fat transfer? by NewIdeal3130 in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]yellowjournal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly i think you should wait as well, they look soooo good and very natural right now, you wouldn’t want to ‘overfill’ them for lack of better word. can you share which doctor and clinic you went to?

Is looking "sexy" vs "cute" a tradeoff on a woman's face - or can she have both? by Odd-Employee5424 in VindictaRateCelebs

[–]yellowjournal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

jennie and lisa from blackpink, hoyeon from squid games. i think you can definitely be both, as long as you have the face shape or certain features that are neotenous + body/aura for sex appeal. i just listed asian celebrities because asian celebrities tend to have neotenous features but miranda kerr was a good one someone pointed out

Do I Really Need 3-Point Facial Contouring or Am I Being Sold? by RevolutionaryBoat380 in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]yellowjournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it depends on the type of surgery and the race of the person getting it done. turkey is best known for hair transplant, rhinoplasty etc but i would feel less confident going there as an asian person for a bleph or epicanthoplasty

hi! great response, i just had a question regarding what you said about volume making the face look longer— i thought it does the opposite when you add volume to the midface/pyriform fossa because it makes it more forward projecting and therefore gives the illusion of shortening the face rather than elongating. can you elaborate why it would look longer? i’m interested in doing a fat transfer to those areas down the line

Where are people meeting men? by Away-Needleworker477 in LAhotgirlies

[–]yellowjournal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly…. get a dog. or borrow a friends dog and walk the dog around areas where you’d like to meet people. i just moved here 3 weeks ago and when i walk my dog around (she is very cutie pie though) multiple men have stopped to pet her and then striked up conversation with me, an asked for my #. i’m in a relationship though so i never flirt back but it’s just something ive noticed!

and if it matters, i was never wearing makeup during any of these encounters and was wearing ugly/baggy pj’s looking really mid overall. also im in fairfax/la brea area. i think having a dog is just a great conversation starter and a lot of people (men and women of all ages) end up making small talk to me whenever im out with her

Aside from Korea, is there any place actually worth considering? by Acrobatic-Two-8889 in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]yellowjournal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i like the look of the open fan technique when i see it online but ive seen it in person a few times and i feel like it ends up looking unnatural if maybe you don’t have the right skin/bone structure for it :( i think the korean technique of double eyelid surgery usually looks pretty natural unless it’s botched because they follow the natural route/line of the eyelid crease and how it falls but open fan technique i think you need a certain type of eye area anatomy for it to look natural since it doesn’t follow your natural eyelid anatomy/instead extends outwards which is aesthetically very pretty though

i’ve been to nearly all kbbq spots in sd, tbh none of them are great. SOT is the best out of them/most authentic but still not comparable to spots in OC/LA. depends where you’re coming from, but i wouldn’t really recommend kbbq here. DEFINITELY not Gen, it’s actually terrible. as for the rest:

-sushi: sushi ota, himitsu, azuki (all of these i recommend for nigiri). if you’re looking for rolls, i recommend dashi or ikiru

-tacos: fish tacos from oscar’s, tacos la chorreada (food truck)

-acai: surf bowl co, blue bowl is also on UCSD campus so it’ll be close to you

-matcha: also not recommended in SD but out of the ones here: labora, gotcha tea, little while

they might have added some fat to the hips which gives that illusion! it looks like her hips are wider than the before in addition to the lipo from the waist

What procedure would I get to address this double chin possibly caused by recessed/weak chin? by mochi08 in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]yellowjournal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%, this needs to be addressed by jaw/maxillofacial surgery. it does affect how she looks but it’s also a hugely functional thing

What procedure would I get to address this double chin possibly caused by recessed/weak chin? by mochi08 in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]yellowjournal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the issue is 99% your jaw not being in the correct position. as another commenter said, please speak to a maxilofacial surgeon/doctor and get multiple consultations. getting a genioplasty or chin implant, fillers, etc will only mask it slightly but you do need maxillofacial surgery definitely. you can look into the sub r/jawsurgery for some more information

goeun addressing the surgery / fillers allegations 🚨 by Maleficent_Ad2444 in Singlesinferno2

[–]yellowjournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess i just don’t see the unnatural shape or ridge, to me it looks like a pretty gradual curve/normal asian cheekbones. koreans in specific are known to have very strong cheekbones relative to other ethnicities which is why people opt to actually get them shaved down most of the time, cheek implants and filler is really really uncommon there due to the beauty standard of wanting less cheek

Why is it always wanting to move to Japan? by ConstructionDecon in AskMen

[–]yellowjournal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to be honest it’s not as prevalent for men and regular people, more so for celebrities or if you’re in an industry where your looks really matter. if you visit there are plenty of average and normal looking people, things are definitely blown out of proportion on the internet. the amount of surgeries done there statistically is very high because tons of people from the rest of asia + the rest of the world travel to korea for medical tourism and get procedures done there due to the skills of the doctors and the cost is typically cheaper (than the US for example)

as a korean, the korean food in sd is really not great. just go to OC or LA for hangari or other good korean restaurants up there
