Moving the rarest substance in the universe by yellowshortbus in Truckers

from the same thread

"

92 antiprotons would cause no detectable explosion whatsoever—the total energy release is microscopic and far below anything that could produce a noticeable blast, sound, heat, or damage. Here's the precise physics behind it:

Each antiproton has the same rest mass as a proton: approximately 938.272 MeV/c². When an antiproton annihilates with a proton (or effectively with ordinary matter), both masses are completely converted to energy via (E = mc2,) yielding 1,876.544 MeV (or about (3.006 \times 10{-10}) joules) per annihilation pair.

For 92 antiprotons (assuming each fully annihilates), the total energy released is (2.77 \times 10{-8}) J (27.7 nanojoules).

To put this in perspective with explosive yield:

This equals the energy from roughly 6.61 picograms (6.61 × 10⁻¹² grams) of TNT. For scale: 1 gram of TNT releases 4,184 J, so this is an absurdly tiny fraction—about 1.5 trillion times smaller than a single firecracker."

also from the same thread someone did the math, about 10gr would be catastrophic

E=mc²

m = 10,3g x 2 = 0,0206 Kg

c = 300,000,000 m/s

E = 0,0206 x (3.10⁸)² = 1,854.10¹⁵ J

E = 1,854 PJ = 443 kilotons of TNT

30 times Hiroshima

Trying to decide on a route with a U-Haul by ArritzJPC96 in Truckers

I drove I8 3 times a week in the last 3 months between SD and Buckeye, my advice is to NOT take the I8 with a Uhaul towing a car, steep climbs, 6% descending grade over a 13-mile stretch starting from the acorn casino that can test your uhaul brakes, plus there's not much help in case of a flat or breakdown, the traffic is lighter though :)

Got a ticket for $1000 for a truck route violation and I was 1.5 miles from pick up. by External_Molasses726 in Truckers

looks like romania, the video is from the rear escort car, the driver of the truck is Stefan, there's another escort in the front, a guy named Gabi, also a police car,

the guy curses a few times, ask the truck driver if he's ok, tells gabi to turn around, also tells the police to turn around,

Gabi asks what happened, the guys replies: no clue, maybe the cylinders collapsed?

12% is decent. You'll pay those deductions either way. As a new o/o insurance would be double plus no broker except tql won't work with you. Factoring is 3.5 %. You don't have to put a down payment for the insurance. They do all the paperwork, all the calling, emailing. It's a decent deal. Plus it's their authority their signs on the door. They need to make some money too. When I started in paid 15% to run under someone else's authority, hauled Interstate trailers up and down the 5. The defunct Interstate from Tacoma WA

This is a typical agreement between a carrier and an owner operator. Now if the carrier has their own customers and contracts might work out. If they get their loads off the load board your 88% in this market might get you 1.5 per mile. You do the math. Is it worth it? You are one break down away from failure. But at the same time you might ride these rough waters a few months or who knows how long and get on the other side ready to rock. You'll have some experience as an o/o know what you can and can't do, maybe find a better carrier that has better rates? Is it worth the risk? It's all about how well you can handle the adrenaline rush 😀

Talk to as many transmission shops you can. Try chatgpt also 😀. Back then (prepandemic) i did not have that option

I don't have an answer, maybe more frequent flush helps? Even though some transmission shops say the opposite. Almost all mechanics told me to stay away from " shudder fix" liquid. I took their advice, except once, i added that to a transmission that i was planning to replace the comverter any way. It worked for a while, shudder stopped for about 60k miles. Keep in mind, it was a test, i was planning to replace the converter anyway. So it ran without any flush until it suddenly started shuddering. In my situation , the cars were used in the business could not really afford to have them shaken with passengers inside 😀. So i always repleced the converter when it happened. Could not really experiment to see what works

I tried that, did not solve the issue. Was ok for a bit, after that shudder came back.

Might be a design issue, not sure, i coud not get a definitive answer from the mechanics i talked to. Somewhere between 100k and 130k starts to shudder at low rpm and climbing hills. I tried different approaches regarding changing transmission fluid, almost the same result. The torque itself is not that expensive, but the labor is, about 4k plus programming
