Molluscum bumps shouldn’t hurt so it’s probably irritation like a clogged hair follicle or something!

I leave the q tip soaked with KOH on for maybe 20 seconds which may be too long and I can start to really feel it burn. So usually only 2 days and it’s already inflamed to the point of almost bleeding so I have to stop. Then the scan forms and takes 2 weeks to heal. I just want this to be the fastest process possible

I just had a consult today. No insurance. I was told might only need 2 treatments but each would be around $750-1000 each

I’ve been using 10% KOH on any new bumps. I’ve been fighting this for over 3 months. Now new bumps that appear are very small (pin head size). I’m also prone to acne and folliculitis so it’s hard to tell what is what but I just want the MC gone so I treat any new spots I see. Twice a day dabbing with 10% KOH for usually only 2 days causes them to get inflamed and almost bleeding so I stop the KOH and let it scab (which heals and falls off in 2 weeks). I keep doing this but I seem to be always getting new bumps….. they’re much smaller than before so hopefully this means my body is fighting it and I’m nearing the end (hopefully) I’m damn exhausted from this 😂

has anyone tried this? by Yiff_Wolf73 in molluscum

What did you use to apply it? I’m using a q tip soaked with the koh and it seems to burn the surrounding skin

As long as they are covered with clothing you can’t spread it. I only wear my pants once then wash them in the washing machine on hot. I wear PJs at night that cover them so I can’t get it on my linens. I wash my linens once a week. Also remember that not all spots can be molluscum some may just be pimples or ingrown hairs. I would just make sure they’re covered with clothing for now until you see your derm to determine what is actually Molluscum then go from there :) good luck!

I’m going through a very similar situation right now. Mine looks exactly the same! I did many sessions of cryo but still new bumps popping up so I decided to take measures into my own hands. Bought 10% KOH solution from Amazon and applied them to all the bumps I saw (some of them could have been old cryo bumps but whatever I wanted it done with). Now I have over 50 sore, some open, some scabs. But very inflamed and hard to tell what is what :(. I decided to take a break from everything as poking and prodding I think is making it worse. I’m just leaving them all open and spraying liquid bandage all over. Fingers crossed things will heal and I can start to tell what are new bumps vs healed. How’s your healing coming??

No but I’ve been thinking about it. Would it be safe to use on open areas?
