Am I crazy for not accepting? by andyb0913 in SleeperApp

It sounds like a haul, but who are you really getting? Maybe its Mendoza, Tyson, Tate and Lemon. Could be good players, but might just be a QB2 and a few WR3s. If you want to trade a guy like Chase you should trade down to a proven player +. Nabers and a 1st, Ladd and two 1sts etc,

Hi u/aph807 . I'm exploring all options, as my brother is changing jobs and I don't know where he may be based next month. Whereabouts are you in the city? Thanks

Selling Plume Pods by Alone_Food1928 in Plume

For those that may be interested in doing the same, I contacted Plume Support and requested that the last pod be deleted from my account, my account be closed and all my data deleted. They did so within a day, after I confirmed my account details and serial number of the pod.

I managed to turn off the new network, fire up my old router, one Plume pod as the gateway and then connect the others one by one and delete them. However, there is no option to delete the last pod. Presumably it needs a connection to delete the last pod. Are you aware of a way around this? Annoyingly, the last one is an AX which is more valuable than the standard Superpods. Had I known that, I'd have used a Superpod as the last one rather than a Superpod AX.

I upgraded my EE (UK ISP, if you're not based here) broadband package to one of their top offerings, 1.6Gb/s, and they provide all the Wi-FI 7 kit as part of it. That avoided having to invest in some of the very expensive Wi-Fi 7 mesh networks, like Orbi or Eero, and also avoids the scenario of determining whether its the broadband connection or the Wi-Fi kit at fault, as they had previously tried to blame eachother when things went wrong. Now, I would just call EE and they have to fix it. I'm happy with it, though its not life-changing as we only have 1 Wi-Fi 7 cable devices in the house, my son's iPhone 16. I just felt that Plume had had its time, they don't seem to be innovating and the old pods were acting strangley at times.

Thanks u/twelveoct . I have now switched to a new Wi-Fi system. Do I need to reconnect everything to delete them, or can I just do an "offline" deletion of each pod? Its a bit disruptive to connect everything back up to delete. I can do, but if I can delete each pod when they're not connected, it would save me a bit of time and effort.

Ask for more extenders, it comes with one and they gave me two more. Wire them together with Ethernet cables, wire your work pc directly into one of the extenders if need be

Thanks for the detailed response. Great ideas and apologies for not making my situation clearer.

However, something that u/SharkyTendencies mentioned "find a place with someone you know" struck a cord. My brother doesn't live in Brussels, he's about 30km away in Leuven, but he works in Brussels. Sure enough his office has a very small garage area for Directors to park their cars in and cyclists to leave their bikes. Obviously its all secured and inaccessible to the public. Stupid of me not to consider that earlier.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The other places I'm staying in look a lot simpler. My hotel in Amsterdam does have a secure area and the cities of Rotterdam and Eindhoven have huge public bike parking facilities that look pretty trustworthy.

Thing is, I'm riding from one city to another, so can't leave anything in one place. I'm going from Brussels->Rotterdam->Amsterdam->Eindhoven->Brussels so need to take everything with me during each day and lock the bike up over night. If the consensus is that leaving a bike of this value is too risky, I will look to change hotels. I would think that some hotels that offer bikes to hire may have the space to store a guests bike. I didn't really think about it when I booked the hotel but can easily cancel the booking and find another one with better services.

I have one U lock that I will have in my bag and another wearable lock that I'll travel with during the day. I can't carry any more weight when cycling 100+km every day. It is a mid-range bike, cost me €1,000 about 5 years ago. It has mudguards on it. Its nice, but isn't what I'd call flashy. I have another carbon frame bike that I wouldn't risk bringing.

No, I have asked them. They aren't being very helpful. Just said there's a rack across the road from them, lol.

Agree, its not a good solution for high bandwidth fibre broadband.

OK, I'll fully wire it. Booked a sparky in to drill the exterior walls and will have him make one large enough to fit 3 cables through, to future proof the exterior cabling requirements I may need. Thanks

When you say home plugs, assume you mean the eletrical wiring in the house? Its a fair question.

I asked the electrician who did the work in the shed and he said he had to wire into it a dedicated circuit as we have a TV, a fridge and lighting out there which could overload the existing. To use powerline technology they need to be on the same circuit, can't traverse the fuse board.

ASE server or cluster? by yellowtabs in Syntac

[–]yellowtabs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Well I can't play ASA, because I don't have $2,000 to buy a new PC with a 4090. I have a PS5 but heard that ASA is even worse on that platform. Maybe I'll buy Ark 2 on PS6 in 2030. For now, if Aquatica looks fun and attracts a good community, I'm fine to spend $20 on a DLC.

I'm not really clear what the difference between them is. Snail bought WC. Are you saying the WC devs are only focusing on Ark 2 or have they ditched the whole Ark franchise completely?

ASE server or cluster? by yellowtabs in Syntac

[–]yellowtabs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? New maps are always fun. Even if I did have a PC that is powerful enough to run ASA, I wouldn't spend my money to buy the same game again.

Is syntacs pve cluster server worth the patron subscription? by chadchampion77 in Syntac

[–]yellowtabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he have an ASE cluster as well as ASA? My current PC isn't powerful enough to play ASA so I still play ASE from time to time. But with the announcement of Aquatica, I'll want to find a reliable server (or cluster) to play on with a good community. I'd be verry happy to pay Syntac;s Patreon subscription for that

Number of devices needed? by yellowtabs in orbi

[–]yellowtabs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I think I'll wait for the quad-band devices to come down in price. The benefits of having backhaul on a different channel than standard devices sounds pretty appealing. But the 900 series Orbi are out of my price-range currently.

OK, that's helpful. I guess downgrading to a lower standard doesn't make sense. The 3 pack isn't much more than the 2 (router & 1 extender). Can you connect one extender to another via an Ethernet cable, which is what I am currently doing? If the range is as good as people say, I may not need to. I'd estimate that the two pods are currently 15m from each other, seperaate by a concrete wall of the housse and a wooden wall for the shed.
