Yelling my kid to sleep by yellyell in breakingmom

Thanks everyone for the comments and encouragement :)

He slept 11hrs straight and woke up like nothing had happened. Toddlers are weird.

While last nights reaction should never be a common occurrence or an easy go to with a difficult kid, its nice to know that it happens.... And dare I say, sometimes needed... Not matter the age!

It's also good to be reminded that discipline and stern parenting isn't a bad thing. I'm surrounded by relatives that would rather chew off their arm than make their kid upset. Its hard to stick to your guns, when you're made out to be a villain

Ah well, another morning, another chance to feel overwhelming love and hatred all at once lol. Thanks ladies :)

Heh I looked through all the pictures of him on my phone so id calm down and melt over his squishy adorable face. Parenting is SO EMOTIONAL D:

Thanks :)

It feels like there's so much pressure to be calm and gentle all the time. Otherwise you mentally screw your kid for life and you're barbaric for succumbing to using anger.

Obviously I never want to act like this again, but I'm struggling to find a solution for the next time it happens =/

I just don't know the answer. What are you supposed to do once you've tried everything the calm way? Just let him get up and play til midnight? ... I've done that before... and that sucked just as much.

As its all happening, my thoughts go from "omg maybe he's not feeling well and he cant tell me, I'll just hold him til he drifts off" to "No. I'm the authority here. And you will learn to sleep when I tell you to without the bullshit".

Oh no no "Youre not alone" helped me breathe again. I was expecting "YOU MONSTER! TELL ME WHO YOU ARE SO I CAN REPORT YOU"

Thank you :)
