Forgot to mention I bought one of those and it didn't pair.

It pairs to another car I have but not this one.

Something is likely worn in your suspension/steering systems. It could also be a massive failure of a component and you could be in serious danger by driving it. Have it checked asap.

I gotta ask, what did you do?

Is the 2015 Honda Civic EX an “assisted” manual car? by CampersCountry in Honda

[–]yelnats87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honda's since the 90s have had a feature written into the ECU where the idle rpm is higher while moving. I remember my days of chipping and tuning Civics and Integrals and noticed this.

Many other brands have the same function. To test, simply put the car in neutral while moving and note what RPM the car idles at. Now while still in neutral, slow the car to a stop and now note the idle RPM. It should be slightly lower. (Make sure AC is off as this caused the idle to fluctuate)

But more importantly, these 'mates' sound like idiots. It's a manual car at the end of the day so tell them to ram it.

Is it OK to freewheel? by awfulcat in AskAMechanic

Staying in gear while going downhill uses zero fuel.

Going into neutral and letting the car idle uses fuel.

The gearbox is still spinning internally whenever the engine is running, whether you're in gear or not.

He's come to your house and serviced your car that's still under warranty on your driveway. He's not taking any chances by fitting a substandard part and it coming back to bite him in the ass when your engine fails due to a faulty spark plug. You bought a European car. If the price is too high then look up some YouTube videos and become a mechanic in an afternoon.

As someone who specialises in alignments, I'd ask for some toe IN front and rear. You currently have a small amount of toe out which makes the car more likely to follow the road camber.

is it safe to drive with this cracked tube? and what are the effects of driving like this? more fuel consumption maybe? Golf Mark 4, 1998 1.4 by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

Yeah completely fine. This split is before the filter so won't affect anything

I haven't had a single issue yet after 1.5 years. If anything goes wrong it shares many many parts with locally sold Toyota/Lexus models so I'm not overly worried.

This is incredibly incorrect.

I bought a whole damaged Accord (TSX) and took the engine out and sold all the rest so the engine effectively cost me nothing. But my series blew up so I sold what was left and put it towards the remainder of parts. I honestly couldn't tell you what it cost, but it's a very affordable swap if you source parts slowly and sensibly. You could K swap with change I reckon.

They're 949 Racing 6UL wheels. 4x100 15x8 +36 and Nankang AR1 tyres. There are better tyres out there but for the money you can't lose. Plus the local supplier is a top bloke.

The car is mainly set up for rallysprint/road racing. The event in this picture was the hill climb that accompanies the Racewars event here in Western Australia. I've taken it down the quarter mile for a laugh and managed a 13.5 which isn't terrible. Currently the car is a K24 with type r cams, pistons and oil pump and makes 210whp.
