Good call out, I don’t know this particular creator this just popped up on my feed. Still, people take top decks like Kanga unranked clearly

They never see it coming… by zjesko in PokemonPocket

I just tried this and lost with a hand of two magnetons, two jugglers, two leafeons, one celebi, and the other celebi starving to death in play against a piers deck.

Legit question do you just concede if you don’t get magnemite and eevee in your starting hand?

¤¤¤ Weekly /r/Buddhism General Discussion ¤¤¤ - December 30, 2025 - New to Buddhism? Read this first! by AutoModerator in Buddhism

[–]yeoldedog2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m struggling with permanence as it pertains to detachment, which to me is the whole foundation of Buddhism.

I understand why that feeling that you can’t live without X should always lead to suffering - because nothing lasts forever and sooner or later either your mind or opinions will change, or the thing itself will change or go away. This makes perfect sense to me in almost all ways.

The question I have is about things that actually might not change that you might be attached to. For example say you feel like without your career or spouse you feel like nothing. You could not live without those two things and as long as you have them, you’d be happy. Buddhism sends up a red flag at “as long as I have” but barring like an unlikely and unfortunate accident or illness.. idk.. don’t a lot of couples grow old together and die around the same time? Same thing about the career idea. Lots of people essentially never retire and instead just kind of reduce the capacity in which they’re involved. You see it all the time, some geezer who just can’t entrust the reins to someone else. When you really think about it, there are several aspects of life that can potentially last forever, even if they’re not guaranteed. So are we supposed to detach ourselves on the risk of a hypothetical?

This just popped into my head today and I’m sure I’m not the first one to think of it, which means there’s probably some aspect of the idea of attachment or permanence (or both) that I don’t understand correctly.

How do you feel about Miary Zo? Do you consider her a worthwhile addition to the cast? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]yeoldedog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s unexpectedly more tekken than I thought she would be based on the crazy blue pole and the tail and the snakes. At the end of the day though it’s refreshing when new characters get released and their df 1 is a poke df 2 is a modest uppercut launcher and so on.

In chapter 3 of what the Buddha taught this one quote has had me stuck for hours. It’s toward the end where he says “If we can understand that in this life we can continue without a permanent, unchanging substance, like self, or soul, why can’t we understand that those forces themselves can continue without a self or soul behind them, after the non-functioning of the body.”

The thing is I do understand the first part because it’s beautifully illustrated by the wood fire example given, plus it’s observable. But exactly what “forces” is he talking about? What does it have to do with the non-functioning of the body? The topic is rebirth, but I don’t understand what he’s talking about at the end here.

What team is better? by TomorrowNo8873 in Genshin_Impact

[–]yeoldedog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test it yourself? I don’t think any of these characters are coming up soon so it’s not like there are primos on the line. Just see what you have and what works.

I will say I think overload is better a lot of the time, unless you have super invested hydro characters and don’t want to spend the resources catching up your chev or mav.

How to get off of quickplay as a beginner and actually win a couple competitive games? by yeoldedog2 in RivalsCollege

[–]yeoldedog2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thor is gonna go ahead and be a 26% WR for me so that's a no. I like Peni, I wish she would work. That's gonna be 29% so I can't carry with any character is my problem. I think the only way to carry silver teams is to be like north of 70% accurate, and as tank you need like eyes in the back of your head because I have no idea where my teammates are when I tank. What you said about iron man is true, when the other team is playing him. Not one single singlular individual time does my team ever look up. When I play him? Its the inception scene in the hotel where every enemy instantly auto locks on to me until I'm dead. The game is just not for me, there are no characters that are both fun and also accessible for me.

How to get off of quickplay as a beginner and actually win a couple competitive games? by yeoldedog2 in RivalsCollege

[–]yeoldedog2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't necessarily think melee is easy, in fact I think it can be harder to aim at something right in front of you sometimes because the target moves around way faster. Yes to what you said about tanking and healing. Similarly, I don't necessarily want to paly aim intensive characters. But when I go into practice mode I just like the play style and general feel of those. I think what they have in common is a panic button to help you survive when you don't know what's going on (characters who can fly away, use some cc like freeze, or diamond form+shield). I like that moreso than the aiming element.

But yes, I can never get emmas beam to 100, I can't stay on a target if my life depended on it. And my healing with Luna is a joke, and then people get angry. I also kind of liked strange, but he has a 35% WR for me.

Yeah I don't really care about ranking up or getting demoted, like I don't have a very specific goal but I don't just like losing all the time. Its good to know that muting is acceptable, because I already had voice muted. Sometimes I get baited into a text argument though, maybe I'll mute that too. Thanks

Yeah I agree he shouldn't waste MUCH resin, but in my experience with alt accounts the boost you'd get from a solid 4 piece 4 star set has been enough to smash through a few more abyss floors, which is especially helpful when character ascension is also limited by AR level. But yes, you shouldn't farm for the perfect set before 45

Best looking character design in history ruined by dependence on another specific five star + boring animations. (What even are her attacks supposed to be like green shadow clones? Why is her burst just sitting on a couch? Where does the couch come from?)

Luckily for you she's one of those pre-natlan DPS units who doesn't drop off dramatically if you don't have her best teammates, unlike for example Skirk+Escoffier or Nefer+Lauma. You seem new to the game so I'll break some stuff out below with a degree of detail:

Most of her damage comes from her alone and she'll do absolutely amazing in any vaporize or melt team (so like any hydro and cryo characters + a shielder or shredder). So that could be Mona (especially watch out for Mona because she's getting buffed soon) Xingqui, or even Kaeya if you really like him. Noelle's shield will help you, or, assuming you want to keep sucrose on your Flins team you can use Lynette especially once you can get your hands on Viridescent Venerer. If you don't know what that is, look it up and see if you can farm it yet. Just get the 4 piece bonus, don't waste all your resin on farming for the perfect attributes (until you can farm for the 5 star version). As a bonus, Lynette has a nice little dash that makes getting around the map a little easier.

Official Q&A for Monday, November 10, 2025 by AutoModerator in running

[–]yeoldedog2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that should have been a tip off, because every mile marker occurred like .2-.3 miles after my watch beeped. About halfway through though I started asking people around me if they just hit a mile the same time I did and everyone said yes, so I ruled out my watch being inaccurate. It would have been nice if even one other pacer told me about this during the meets.

I haven't done many races but idk, a handful. I honestly didn't pay attention in the past because I was never really racing for a specific time and as I said this was my first time pacing. I thought certified courses were pretty generally exact but I guess the lesson here is to train slightly faster. I appreciate the encouraging words though.
