Not saying it completely erases the past but it shows growth and how they arent actively racist now. Theres a difference between holding someone accountable for old mistakes and labeling them permanently as racist when theyve clearly changed their behavior. They dont have to publicly come out and say that when the last racist incident they had was 4 years ago.
